Perfect in every way

Thinking you boss is hot but annoying is one thing, but falling into his bed and waking up with more than they bargained for is something completely different. Grace VanRyan is steps away from completing the bar and becoming a lawyer for the ABC Corp., but first she needs to finish her apprenticeship with Jaxson Richards. Sparks instantly fly between the two that lead them down a path of destruction. But will it be their careers or their courtship that will last through the hurdles they need to cross. And what about the biggest hill to jump over - her father - Richard VanRyan..... In true Melanie Moreland fashion the listener is once again surrounded by characters that feel like they are family. Hopes and dreams are riding a very thin line and the reader listens to each chapter needing more while at the same time they are in awe of the brilliance that is another Melanie Moreland masterpiece.

Great story and narration

I was excited when I learnt that My Saving Grace had released in audio and I couldn’t wait to dive in. Narrated by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane, they did an admirable job bringing this story to life.

I was excited to listen to the first book one in the latest series from Melanie Moreland, ABC Corp. Having loved the men and women of BAM I couldn’t wait to see what she has in store for the next generation of Vested Interest.

This is Grace VanRyan and Jaxson Richards story and it was an entertaining read. From the first word to the last I was drawn in to the story that Ms.Moreland wove and had a hard time putting this book down when real life got in the way.

Grace is the eldest daughter of Richard and Katy, a focused and driven young woman who has her life all mapped out for her. The very last thing she needs is the complication of her marriage to Jaxson (her boss) that she doesn’t want to continue. However much to both their surprise, Jaxson is reluctant to end the marriage, he wants Grace and is determined to have her.

It was such a pleasure to listen to this book. The writing is strong, the characters easy to like and relate too and the appearance of familiar faces just added to my overall enjoyment of this story. Of course having met Richard, I knew he wouldn’t be able to stop himself becoming involved in true Richard fashion and this just added to my entertainment and I love him even more than I did before.

The conversations between Jaxson and Richard had me shaking my head at times and laughing. Grace is a strong, determined woman and the chemistry between her and Jaxson is off the charts with it’s intensity.

Fantastic listen

I loved this Melanie Moreland listen to much. The writing is simply top-notch, and the narration by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane simply can't be beat.

Grace is a complex character. She is determined, focused, ready to start her career, but she also has a series phobia that she from a childhood trauma has not addressed. Jaxson is her boss, has a reputation for being a hard and determined man in his career, and he is used to taking charge. The two of them combined are a strikingly intelligent couple that help each other navigate through the grey areas that they've created in their lives.

John Lane brings the stiff, stuffy, rigid Jaxson to life, and his transformation as he opens up to Grace is evident in the narration performance. Maxine Mitchell is a favorite of mine. She always bring a level of emotion and determination to her characters that has me riveted. I can listen to her all day long.

LOVED THIS AUDIO VERSION!

This book was amazing! John and Melanie did an amazing job narrating this wonderful story by Melanie Moreland! I have read all of this series of BAM by her and this is the first of ABC which is a continuation/spinoff of that series.

The voices were the perfect accompiament to Jaxson and Grace. Their tale of Office Romance, Age Gap, Lovers to Enemies, Angst, and twisty turns was one I couldn't put down!

If you haven't read this book yet, I recommend you read it now or LISTEN TO IT! You can jump on in even if you haven't read the others, it is a standalone. There are just other people in the book that you will know if you have read the previous books! So jump in! You will want to read the others! I promise you this!!

A terrific story with great narrators

I'm pretty new to Melanie Moreland, and boy oh boy, am I ever wondering what took me so long. My Saving Grace is the first in a spin-off series, and after meeting so many of these characters, I think I need to get their stories. This book is packed full of terrific characters, and that's not even counting our romantic couple who kept me glued to the pages. Jaxson and Grace pull out all the feels, and when I say all, I mean just that. I'll be honest, there were times when I really wasn't sure if I was gonna like this romance or not. Oh, I loved the banter, and as I mentioned, there were some terrific characters. And I liked Grace. She's a strong woman, capable of taking care of herself, but that doesn't define her. She's also loving and forgiving - the latter might take some coaxing, but it's there. Then there's Jaxson, and there were moments when I really wanted to punch him right in the mouth. At the risk of giving something small away, I was kind of cheering when someone else does just that. My feelings about Jaxson were all over the place. He'd say or do something so sweet then turn around and say or do something else that drove me crazy. I'm sure that was the idea, and it worked wonderfully. Yes, Jaxson was a big ol' jerk at times, and during some of those times, I really wanted Grace to walk away. But he was also one of my favorite types of character. He's arrogant while still being unsure about what he's feeling, and he's so wonderfully redeemable. So, My Saving Grace is everything a good romance should be - it's emotional, it's sexy, and it's witty. The characters feel so real they practically leap off the page, and the story is totally engaging and entertaining.
I read the book when it released, and I wrote all of that about it. Then I listened to the wonderful narration by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane, and if I could give it more stars, I would. So, those characters that already felt so real now have a voice in my head. That witty banter was done perfectly, and the emotions between Jaxson and Grace came through loud and clear. Even knowing everything that was going to happen, I still hung on every word and felt all the same things. I loved this couple when I read them, and I'll be honest, I wasn't sure at first about listening to them, but these narrators were spot on with this story and even the secondary characters were done just right.
My Saving Grace is one of those books I can come back to and revisit the characters time and time again, and whether I read it or listen to it, it's an excellent story.

My Saving Grace

I cannot get enough of this second generation series from Melanie Moreland! One of my favorite things is when authors intertwine their series with characters that cross over or make cameos. The Vested Interest: ABC Corp features the children from the original Vested Interest series and the Contract series.

Grace is the daughter of Richard and Katy, and I liked her a lot. She is strong, smart, and has plans for her life. Plans that don't involve finding herself married to her older boss Jaxson.

I liked getting to see how their relationship and feelings developed as the story progressed. They had a strong connection and are one of my favorite couples from Melanie Moreland. Her storytelling is superb and the narrators did a fantastic job bringing it all to life. They can make or break an audiobook for me and I loved listening. I found myself getting invested in the characters, both Grace and Jaxson and the secondary characters we get to see as well.

I cannot recommend this enough and I am already looking forward to the next book!

I love this swoony start to a new series!

My Saving Grace is the first book in a new series. It is a spin off/next generation series featuring the children of our favorite Melanie Moreland characters.

Grace VanRyan falls for her grumpy, but oh so sexy and totally off-limits boss, Jaxson Richards. He seems to run hot then cold, leading her on then keeping his distance.

“I can’t love, but you make me want to.”

I absolutely loved this swoony romance. (Even when I thought Jaxson was a jerk) I love that Grace stood up for herself and made Jaxson work for her forgiveness (and boy did he!)

“I like being drunk. I don’t have to care then.”
“Care about?”
“Saying the right thing. Doing the right thing.”

For a reread I listened to this on audiobook and loved the story just as much the second time around. I felt like I got even more into the heads of the characters this time. Especially Grace with Maxine Mitchell bringing her voice to life!

I loved it!!

This is the first book in the ABC Corp Series, a next generation Series of the outstanding BAM Series. This is a wonderful introduction to this new Series, and I am already in love with the ABC's! Grace and Jaxson's story is beautifully written, and captivating. They are both great characters. Grace is lovely, and smart. Jaxson is sexy, handsome, caring, and enigmatic. They are opposites attract, but they complement each other. They share an undeniable and sizzling chemistry. Their relationship is filled with miscommunication. The storyline is fun, sweet, and filled with secrets, and misunderstandings. At some point, I was so mad after Jaxson, but he brilliantly redeemed himself! The story is told from dual POV, which is awesome. The cast of supporting characters is amazing. I LOVE the BAM's and the ABC's! The Epilogue, and the extended Epilogue are fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend it. My favorite quote: "Welcome to the family, Jaxson. Brace yourself. It's gonna be a bumpy ride." Maxine Mitchell and John Lane did an outstanding job with the narration. I love their voices together. Now, I can't wait to read Finding Ronan's Heart, the next book in the Series.

My Saving Grace

It's been a while since a book completely captured my attention from the get-go and didn't let me go until I finished. This is that book.
I loved it from the moment I started.
An older man-younger woman, office romance with steam and angst.
Grace and Jaxson have an instant connection and listening to their relationship form and grow was inspiring. I loved it all.
The narrators were incredible in bringing the characters to life making the experience even better.
As my first Melanie read/listen I think it has captured my attention enough to go back and read more of her books.

Grace and Jaxson!

Now that Grace has finished law school the only thing standing between taking a position at ABC Corp is the one year she is required to spend at Smith & Hodges to complete her internship. She is well aware of her new boss’s reputation when it comes to his talents as a lawyer but her attraction to him is a complication she wasn’t expecting, and he might just teach her professionally but personally as well.

Jaxson has focused on his career as a lawyer to the detriment of his personal life. He keeps everyone in his life at arm’s length but there is something about the feelings that Grace inspires in him that are not only different but unwelcome as well. He is determined to keep his distance but that might be a challenge he will be unable to keep.

When it comes to love and family Grace and Jaxson have completely differently experiences but the chemistry between them radiates off the pages. As much as they try to deny it their love is undeniable, and her feisty personality challenges him at every turn which is exactly what he needs in his life. I thought that the narrators did a great job at bringing out the turmoil that Jaxson was feeling and the strength and sassiness that is Grace.

It was ok

This book was ok, but it was all a bit forced and I didn’t feel the chemistry. There were several eye roll moments. Didn’t really see what was so different about her to make him change his ways, so it seemed a bit insta, cheesy and not believable. I think Colleen Hoover does the “damaged soul finding a special someone” story much better in many of her books - though to be fair, it has been a few years since I listened to her books, and it was when I first started listening to audiobooks, and I might not feel the same way about them if I heard them now. This book was still an ok listen though, and I’m sure some people would enjoy it.

Great listen

Blown away. I can’t believe the emotional roller coasters Mrs Melanie Moreland can take you on. The highs, the lows, the frustrations when you really want to “facer” a character or maybe her for making you cry again. “Sometimes, we don’t have a choice,”. You need to go along because Melanie gets you so invested that stopping isn't an option. Her characters and story telling are absorbing, and the narrators bring all that to life with their amazing vocalising of Melanie's words.
“I wasn’t going to allow Jaxson Richards and his selfishness to destroy me. I was Grace -fucking- VanRyan, and I was my father’s daughter. He taught me to be strong. To stand up for myself. I refused to let someone else destroy me. With a defiant toss of my head, I straightened my shoulders.”
Grace VanRyan, the first BAM baby, the daughter of Richard and Katy VanRyan. She’s focused and determined with her whole life planned. Pass the bar, work with BAM to gain experience & then ABC, the next generation of BAM.
Jaxson Richards a lawyer at the top of his field, but his life is wholly focused on work. He has flaws moulded by his childhood, relationships & love are things he cannot conceive of being part of his life. Meeting Grace VanRyan is a revelation which he really doesn’t have the experience to handle.
Grace and Jaxson have chemistry, but logically they aren’t a good match. Jaxson is older & Grace is his articling student.
“Because she is the only warmth in my life. Without her, the cold will destroy me.”
