Publisher's Summary

The Holocaust didn't really end in 1945. Not for everyone. Even after the war, survivors' lives were influenced by their terrifying experiences. Some of them were never able to retell their stories - for others, it took decades.

In My Mother's Ring: A Holocaust Historical Novel, Henryk Frankowski feels compelled to pen his memoir and finally share his poignant story from his hospital bed as he lay dying. His carefree childhood as a Jewish boy in Warsaw, Poland is never far from his mind as he recalls the tumultuous world he endured during the Holocaust. Henryk speaks uninhibitedly about the intense bond he has with his family, particularly his adoration for his nurturing mother. Ultimately, the Frankowskis' lives are broken apart as World War II ignites and the Nazis storm across Europe, imprisoning and killing millions. As senseless restrictions are implemented, living conditions are compressed, circumstances turn dire, and callous disregard for human life runs rampant, Henryk must find the resilience to carry on. All the while, he dreams of a family reunion in Warsaw.

Wow.

Any additional comments?

Wow. This book is in depth and heavy. I had to stop listening at certain points just to take in the amount of......evil and filth that happened during this time. It is very graphic and has a lot of details. If you're into historical fiction about The Holcaust, this is definitely worth an eye opening listen.

hard to listen at times

Not well written. Overuse of superfluous language & odd metaphors/similes. Language unbelievable for the narrator, like trying too hard. The story has potential, which is the only reason I finished it.

It shows that man can be so cruel to their fellow man

What a great story. It tells what a determined man can do when he chooses life. One of the best novels I’ve listened too on the holocaust. Even though it is historical fiction this story was played out all thru ww11. Will read more from this novelist

A brothers fight to survive

A wonderful book, that brought tears to my eyes as I read about all the sufferings this family endured and how evil can become like a plague is no one fights todo what’s right.

My Mothers Ring : a Holocaust Historical Novel

This book, although rather boring to most books I listen to. I learned quit a bit though as most books I've read about WWII concentrate on the relationships people developed. The narrator is speaking in the 1st person , and the man he portrays him as he described himself. His only goal was to survive. And he was actually selfish ans cold.
