So many questions!
I loved this! I love the way the podcast is edited together and his journalistic style. A very interesting and Intriguing story. Reminds me of the movie “not without my daughter” but with different circumstances. The mother sounds so adorable. I still have so many questions though! I highly recommend.

This wasn't as good as I was expecting but I did like the honest way this podcast was delivered. Trying to show how a family comes to grips with circumstances beyond their control and the ripples that have gone through all their lives.

Generational trauma
I listened to this with interest and at times broke off to have in-depth discussions with my partner about the impact of family and relationships on our lives. In that way it was very meaningful for me. I identified with Ira & Danny's experience of growing up under the cloud of their mother's trauma. I was heartened that they still had her to talk to about these issues many years later. A story of our times that was very worth telling.

Undecided
Danny had a great idea for this true life podcast and I had high hopes. Unfortunately I was left unsure if it was fantastic or terrible. The presentation was great. Danny was lovely. The story was lovely. But it was really hard to have sympathy at times for the mum. I wish Danny had delved into what life would have been like for a single young lady in those days and maybe we could have understood her decisions a bit better. I was left assuming I could imagine the hurdles that would have been present but it didn't quite sit right at times. Its a shame because I really wanted to love it.

Heartfelt
What a beautiful and sad tale. What comes across is that even in the worst of times and events love doesn’t die. It stretches and can be quite thin at times but it’s there. Danny’s mother who went through something so awful which left her with major depression manages to face it head on thanks to Danny. It’s lovely she is now back in touch with her children after all that happened. Thank you to everyone who is on the podcast. I come from a family with secrets too and I had to examine what went on and it helps.

Astonishing and riveting story
This was so interesting that I listened to the entire series in one go. As the daughter of a Jew who abandoned his entire family of origin one day in 1972, I grew up in isolation from all things Jewish, hence my fascination with them. Where I have always masked the neurotic family that I have, the unfolding of this deeply painful family history is courageous and reveals how trauma can keep going on and on through generations. Thank you Danny. This is the best listen I’ve had and I want to keep telling people about it. I’ll be thinking about this for a long while to come.

Loved Lillian and her Family
Liked this short podcast very sad and even sadder that the first husband never saw any wrong in what he had done , not acknowledging the effect it had on his children ,Lillian and her children. I thought he sounded very selfish and ignorant having a cheek to say Lillian didn’t have the intelligence . This lady showed kindness and tolerance qualities he never had .. Danny well done loved this !
