"A lot of frolic, fun, and charming ribaldry, as well as the warm feeling of having been transported to a lovely spot where worry is unknown and anything is believable." ( The New York Times)

There is nothing not to like about this book. Beautifully written, highly amusing, while also an education on Corfu and its animals, and performed to perfection. Thank goodness there are two books to follow.

Absolutely brilliant and spirits lifting

Narrated beautifully this story was engaging and entertaining. What fabulous bunch of eccentric personalities! The characters were bought to life, and what a treasurer's home-schooling adventure

Watched this series on television at a young age,
and listening to the book 45 years later was fun ear candy.

So very reflective of a time, place and pace before
tourists became truly ignorant and offensive to a foreign
country’s citizens.

Lovely lively learning :-)

Laughter for all from all the characters :-)
