At the onset of the epidemic, Nila Carter and her family retreated to her father's cabin in search of safety and seclusion from all that transpired around them. Turn away! The first book was amazing. There is a separation with how the characters act in the first book from the second book and the narrator is so disjointed in retelling the story.

Tricia below nails it - if I wasn't so invested in the story I couldn't have gotten through this and I'm really hoping book 3 isn't like this. I just can't get over how dumb she suddenly makes Lev mid way through the book and some of the back story is so freakng weird
