Publisher's Summary

Nora Fawn's daughter, Hope, disappeared four years ago. Nora has never known why.

Refusing to answer her mother's calls, emails or texts, Hope maintained contact only with her big sister, Joy. Having once considered her mothering to be the greatest achievement of her life, Nora's spent these Hope-less years searching, aching, mother-guilting, working for a famous yet talentless artist and avoiding her own emotionally repressed mother, Daphne.

But...last night Hope rang out of the blue to say, 'I'm coming home, I'm getting married, the wedding is in three weeks and it's your job to organise it.' Desperate to prove her worth as a mother and regain her daughter's love, Nora commits to the task - assisted by her own increasingly dementia'd mother and her two best friends, Soula (an amateur bikini-line waxer) and Thilma (whom they found in a cab in the 1980s).

My Daughter's Wedding is both hilarious and profound as it explores the confounding complexity, wild terrain, mountains, valleys and quicksand found in three generations of mother-daughter love.

Not funny

Really thought this book would be funny and witty , just shows her daughters to be self centred and badly brought up. Thankfully I didn’t pay for this book won’t be buying any more these ones.

Such a Good Read and so lovely to hear Gretel

Loved the passion and the story painted was just lovely to be apart of for the hours we spent together. Left me feeling happy and growth and that family is as frustrating for everyone behind closed doors. Thankyou Gretel

Gretel Killeen, your talent never ceases to amaze me!!

Gretel captures each character so perfectly! I have met all of them in some form or another but to have them woven together in this fantastic tale is brilliant! I was cheering for Nora so much, she’s like your best friend, aunt & colleague who never sees her true self or situation who you want to shine!!
I read the book first and couldn’t put it down.
Listening to it with the author bringing the characters to life with voice & character is next level!
She has set the audio fiction bar high for me now!
I laughed out loud often and quickly flicked through pages in bits.
I can’t write more without giving something away!!
I can’t wait for the next instalment, the movie and the tv show.
Thank you Gretel, a true gift!

Loved it

Loved it. Very pertinent for my current time of life, but also just down right hilarious.
