Plot twists
it seemed a bit slow at times then I found I had missed some inportant detail and had to go back

Sorry JD :(
The “twist” was obvious early on so it was kind of a matter of getting through it after that. I love JD Kirk so I feel bad giving a bad review but yeah, this wasn’t great. If you haven’t read his books before though don’t write him off. Definitely an author to look out for usually.

D Kirk is one of my favourite authors. However for audio books you need a better reader

It just didn’t work for me.
I love JD Kirk’s other work, and had high expectations of this book but for me it just didn’t work.
Writing was repetitive, narration annoying and I felt it just dragged on. The story had promise, but it got lost in the waffle.

Loved it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s completely different to JD Kirk’s other books so don’t expect the same dark humour and loveable characters. However in saying that, the characters are likeable (mostly) and I did laugh out loud a couple of times but maybe that’s just my sense of humour. If you’re a DI Filson fan, which I am, you’ll appreciate the narrator. I listened to this book in one sitting (well not actually sitting…. more like while I was walking the dog, cleaning the house and doing other mundane chores) Anyway it’s definitely worth a read/listen.

Different to other titles by author but all in all a great book
Twists and turns some you can guess others are a bit of a surprise but keeps you intrigued to the very end

What happened JD Kirk?!
I have read every book this guy has written and loved them all. This was not great though. I guessed the ‘twist’ at the first death and it was painful the rest of the way. Disappointed as he is one of my fave authors!

Not worth the credit
I am a big fan of JD Kirk’s work. I did not enjoy this, the twist was blatantly obvious and the character had no redeeming qualities. Please don’t continue with this storyline.

Disappointing
I generally enjoy J D Robb but this one didn’t appeal at all. The plot was predictable and the narration annoyingly slow - I couldn’t wait for it to be over!
