Publisher's Summary

Boss babe. Ice queen. That’s what they call me at the office. But there’s one man who has secretly melted me for years. Kaede McWarren.

The only problem? He’s my big brother’s best friend. But when he asks me to play his fiancée to seal a business deal? Oh, I’m taking this gift horse and riding it while I can.

He’s got the whole tall, handsome, and intense thing down...with a side of quiet mystery and sexy brains to boot.

He’s everything I want. Everything I need. It should be easy - a business arrangement between two type-A workaholics. A few dinner dates here, a few kisses there, and none will be the wiser. But if his business partner finds out it’s fake, he’s screwed. And if my brother finds out it’s real, he might be dead.

There are a hundred ways to lose, but when I’m in his arms, I feel like I’ve already won.

My Big Fat Fake Engagement is a full-length romance with a happily ever after and no cliff-hanger.

Crass amd unberable

the author wrote every character with such a vulgar vocabulary about sex that it was almost unbearable. Even in the workplace of all the characters there was always some obvious reference to sex or man parts or vagina. apparently I'm supposed to believe that these characters are people who come from money but they're classless and disgusting it is really just annoying.

Fun & Entertaining!

My Big Fat Fake Engagement was a fun and entertaining audiobook to listen to! It is drama filled, a ton of laughter and sweet and steamy. I loved Kaede and Courtney. Both are hard working, competitive, kind and loving. There were a few times I thought Courtney was slightly over the top but for the most part I absolutely adored her. She is the perfect match for Kaede. She has never known him intimately because a relationship with him is off limits due to the fact that he is her brother’s best friend. Lots of drama ensues and a fake engagement begins. At first they try to resist each other but their connection and chemistry is undeniable and when they give in it is immediate fireworks. Kaede had a few issues with self confidence and didn’t feel worthy of Courtney for the longest time but with Courtney’s confidence in him he started to believe he was. I thought this was raw and beautiful. I love the family dynamics and getting more of Ross and Violet from My Big Fat Fake Wedding. This was an addictive rom-com usual to Lauren Landish’s style and I highly recommend it. Carly Robins was the perfect choice for Courtney’s character. Her humor and passion is spot on. Lance Greenfield did an excellent job as Kaede as well. 4 stars overall.

My big fat great listen

What can I say about Lauren Landish. . This story is book 2 in the series. All her stories are for all ages. This about Courtney you meet her in book 1 . Lauren will have you rooting for the couple. Once you start listening you’ll be glued till the end . A love story that we need to cheer on.
Courtesy is called an all work and no play heroine. But she’s holding her heart for only one man . It’s her brother’s best friend, Kaede. . How does he feel ?
Kaede and Cortney strike up a deal Kaede needs to appear professional for a big business deal. Courtney is hoping the deal will end of it being real and a ring after a time . Will the business men find out the engagement is fake . Grab this and fall in love with this couple

The performance of Carly Robins, Lance Greenfield was beyond words. They were perfect for this part and the voices were smooth and strong

Passionate Sprinkles

A wonderful story line with bits of "passionate sprinkles" throughout.

Thank you Lauren for such a whimsical tale with a touch of class. The voices, narrated by of Carly Robins and Lance Greenfield, were the perfect choices. I just started audio books and look forward to listening to more of yours.

Again, thank you.

Kind regards,

Hollie

Feel good, funny listen!

Lauren Landish had this release come at the perfect time. Just when I was looking for a feel good, laugh out loud story, My Big, Fat, Fake Engagement is out and I am thrilled! It's just what i needed. Courtney Andrews is settling into a new position at her job and is known as the ice queen. She has replaced her brother, Ross who has gone after his dream of branding his gym, with his best friend Kaede. In an effort to secure a deal, Kaede is put in an awkward position, and tells everyone he is engaged to Courtney. Now forced to act on his announcement, Courtney and Kaede have to pretend they are a couple and on their way to the alter. Little did they know, fate has stepped in! This is so much fun. I love the characters, from Courtney and Kaede to the evil Missy we get a taste of all personalities. It's got it all too! Steamy passion, witty banter, fun dates, unusual circumstances and the best friends from My Big, Fat, Fake Wedding! You will love this listen as much as I do!

Carly Robins and Lance Greenfield are an incredible narrating team, and when I see their names together, I know it's going to be good. These seasoned performers zero in on the personalities of the characters and deliver their dialogue with voices of perfection. Loved these two as Court and Kaede!

As always with Landish, this is very entertaining!

This is a book that shows how each of us can get lost in our own insecurities & color how we see the world & those around us. Each main character had their own preconceived notions about other people & what they were sure those same people thought about them - this part was very relatable. The test was pure chemistry & entertainment as the web they wove with good intentions was used against them. This seems to be a pattern I this family. while it was entertaining & the characters had great chemistry it would be good not to be predictable compared to the other book with Ross & Violet.

More business than pleasure

This was not one of Lauren Landish’s better books. It wasn’t terrible, but the ratio of rom-com to everything else was way off. Any book with a fake engagement theme should be hilariously contrived on the fake engagement side, with zany “quick, kiss me in front of the crowd” hijinks. But instead, there was a lot more time spent on blah, blah, blah business and corporate mergers and explanations of the best way to run One Life Gym. There were some fun parts, but I feel like this would have been a better book at half the length (or, at least, cut out the last two hours, which boringly wraps things up after the HEA).

Random off things for me:
The writing, cover art and narrator makes Kaede sound like a lithe athlete, yet by the end of the book it turns out he’s a massive brick of a man who does truck pulls and weight lifting contests. If you’ve ever seen a truck pull, you know the guys are muscle bound like Conan the Barbarian. Given the length of this book, it amazed me how little details we’re given about either Kaede or Courtney’s looks and body-shapes (other than a lot of comments about Courtney’s big butt, I’m still not sure, but she might possibly be a plus sized gal?)

Several of the supporting characters were caricatures. The stereotypical gay guy was funny in the 80s, but these days feels forced and tone-deaf. Most gay guys I know aren’t all jazz hands and finger snaps.

The nooky is explicit, but didn’t sizzle. I think it was a combination of the overwritten business content and Lance Greenfield’s narration, which did not sound like the beefy, tattooed guy with working class origins that Kaede was supposed to be.

Cute, sexy rom com about Courtney & Kade

The youngest sibling is a very controlled,OCD type, list making, corporate, brainiac beauty attracted to a her brother’s best friend with a similar personality traits. Kade and Ross have opened their own gym business. The drama involves the business. Great dialogue and characters. The narration is good though Lance Greenfield is not my most favorite performer and Carly Robins male voice is a bit to gravelly. A very sweet HEA and plenty of continued involvement from brother Ross, sister-in-law Violet and the characters from book 1. Well worth a credit.
