The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is an account of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien’s world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them such as Elrond and Galadriel took part.

Story
Aram thinks he’s nothing but a misfit from a small fishing village in a dark corner of the world. As far as Aram knows, he has nothing, with hardly a possession to his name other than a desire to make friends and be accepted by those around him, which is something he’s never known. But Aram is more. Much, much more. Unknown to him, Aram bears within him a gift so old and rare that many people would kill him for it, and there are others who would twist him to use for their own sinister purposes.

Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
Master storyteller and internationally bestselling author Christopher Paolini returns to the World of Eragon in this stunning epic fantasy set a year after the events of the Inheritance Cycle.
The world is no longer safe for the Dragon Rider Murtagh and his dragon, Thorn. An evil king has been toppled, and they are left to face the consequences of the reluctant role they played in his reign of terror.
Now they are hated and alone, exiled to the outskirts of society. Throughout the land, hushed voices whisper of brittle ground and a faint scent of brimstone in the air - and Murtagh senses that something wicked lurks in the shadows of Alagaësia. So begins an epic journey into lands both familiar and untravelled, where Murtagh and Thorn must use every weapon in their arsenal, from brains to brawn, to find and outwit a mysterious witch. A witch who is much more than she seems.
In this gripping novel starring one of the most popular characters from Christopher Paolini's blockbuster Inheritance Cycle, a Dragon Rider must discover what he stands for in a world that has abandoned him. Murtagh is the perfect book to enter the World of Eragon for the first time...or to joyfully return.

Took me back
I have loved the inheritance cycle since first reading them as a teen. Murtagh took me right back to Alagaesia once again! Left me wanting more after it finished! Fingers crossed for more tales from CP and the world of Dragons and riders!

Immersion into Dragon Rider life
I was very excited by this story and it did not disappoint! I feel like I learned a lot more about the world as a whole and I was pleasantly surprised by how much depth Paolini has given this character.
Selfishly, I would like to have seen the main characters travel the world a little bit more in this book but hopefully the story will continue.
Can't wait for the next one!

May the stars watch over you
I have lost count how many times I have read the original works of the Eragon series, but it was re added to my reading list during the first covid lockdown and didn't disapoiny my nostalgia. the series has had a much bigger impact on my life than I had at first realised even choosing my online I'd as Ebrithil based on these books. Murtag is an amazing addition to this universe and I enjoyed listening to the story greatly. I'm looking forward to what this universe brings next with eager anticipation.

Excited for what’s next
Exceeded all expectations. It feels to be on a smaller scale for the most part when compared to the first 4 books but wow does it help to flesh out the world of Alagasia. The first chapter had me a little skeptical as to where the story would go and if it would add or subtract from the original series but wow it definitely adds. The Lovecraftian elements were an unexpected addition and reminded me of The call of Cthulhu and were very well done and had me absolutely hooked. Loved it and can’t wait to see where the story goes next 10/10.

this is the book I didn't know I needed in my life. Murtagh is one of my favourite characters and to have him and Thorn in a book with just them was just amazing. I was on the edge of my seat and cannot wait to return again. I will be waiting in anticipation
