Tried to be funny but was just whingeing

The main character needs some serious psychological intervention. She was mean spirited and whingey. Awful. At one point she states that people are not interested in hearing about other people's weddings and we are subjected to inane complaining about 3 weddings. The murder mystery is a minor part of the story. The narrator is awful too i'm afraid only heightening the feeling of being trapped listening to someone listening to an endless tirade of complaints. Just towards the end there are finally some funny sections. The book also wavers between bigotry and political correctness... seemed like it was trying to please both sides of the fence.
