The Elizabethan house of Bracketts is about to be turned into a museum. It had once been the home of the celebrated poet Esmund Chadleigh and is to become a shrine to his life and poetry - but the transition is far from smooth. Carole Seddon had been reluctant to join the Bracketts Board, and now she realises that she should have listened to her instinct. Simon Brett's knowledge and use of the English language is what makes all the difference in the telling of these stories. None of the Fethering Mysteries I have listened to has disappointed in terms of plot lines or characters. And there are sufficient twists and turns to maintain my curiosity as to the outcome. It's not surprising since the number of books Simon Brett has written is high and their subject matter varies considerably. A dedicated fan.
