About this listen

Everyone knows the dead woman under the lighthouse, but no one seems to know why she died. What brought the folk-rock star back to Exham on Sea after so many years? Who wanted her dead? Does the key to her murder lie in the town, or far away across the Atlantic?

Libby Forest arrives in Exham to build a new life making cakes and chocolates, and discovers a talent for solving mysteries, helped by Bear, an enormous Carpathian sheepdog, and a cast of local characters. The green fields, rolling hills, and sandy beaches of England's West Country provide a perfect setting for crime, intrigue, and mystery.

I might have enjoyed story more if her voice was not so painful. had no expression.. I could not handle it wanted to give her a tissue to blow her nose. Horrible glad it was a free one

Could not stand the voice

I enjoyed the story but it was sadly too short. You couldn’t have guessed who did it until the end.
The narrator sounds like she has a cold, so it was a little off putting but not enough to stop listening.

Too short

Most enjoyable cozy mystery. A surprise really. I was just going through the free titles available for the month and stumbled across this gem. I Highly recommend the series. Now I’m off to read the next book…

A pleasant surprise…

A rather dull story, with fairly bland narration. I would not recommend unless you were looking for a quick fill-in “read”’of about four hours.

A simple tale set in a small coastal village.

I enjoyed this story. The mystery keeps you guessing, I changed my mind over and over, I never guessed who the perpetrator was. Good story.

Big Mystery

The performance was quite good but the story was short and not substantial, found it disappointing.

Not exceptional

The narrator nearly drove me mad....very dead-pan. I am going to read the series so I hope the publishers changed the narrator at some point as the author's work definitely deserves better.

Enjoyed it

The story was ok but the narrator’s voice was very unusual. She read in a monotone and sort of like she was forcing the words out in one breath

Narrator sounds bored and like she has a cold!
