About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Bad luck has always followed Olivia. But when a steamy text from a random number turns into the most entertaining relationship of her life, it seems things are looking up...

Colin has always considered Olivia his flatmate's annoying little sister. Until she moves in with them, and he realizes she's turned into an altogether sexier distraction...

He's determined to keep his distance, but it isn't easy. Especially when he discovers she's the girl he's been secretly messaging.

Now, Mr Wrong Number must make a decision. Should he shut down the messages, before things get messy?

Or turn up the heat...?

Critic Reviews

The most sidesplittingly funny, sexual tension-filled book I've read in a long, long time. I dare you not to fall in love! (Ali Hazlewood, author of The Love Hypothesis)
Smart, sexy, and downright hilarious. Mr. Wrong Number is an absolutely pitch-perfect romantic comedy (Christina Lauren, author of The Unhoneymooners)
One of my favorite romcoms, heavy on the 'com' and steamy on the 'rom' (Jesse Q. Sutanto, author of Dial A for Aunties)
This book is an absolute blast, a classic rom-com setup with a modern twist. Lynn Painter's clever, charming voice sparkles on every page (Rachel Lynn Solomon, author of Weather Girl)
A laugh-out-loud flirty read that sizzles with witty banter and plenty of heat. I could not put it down! (Samantha Young, author of Much Ado About You )
Filled with laugh-out-loud situations and moments of heart-fluttering swooniness, Mr. Wrong Number is a true romantic comedy. I loved reading about Olivia's messy, passionate approach to life. And the sexual tension was off the charts! (Kerry Winfrey, author of Very Sincerely Yours)
Mr Wrong Number puts the 'com' in rom-com, delivering energetic, laugh-out-loud hilarity from page one. Painter's mastery of sexy slow-burn tension and whip-sharp banter will have readers smiling from ear to ear (Amy Lea, author of Set on You)
A delightfully messy heroine and world-class banter make this oh-so-sweet story of hidden identities and mixed (text) messages impossible to put down. Sexy, hilarious, compulsively readable (Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, authors of The Roughest Draft)
Hilarious, heart-melting, and hopeful, Painter's adult debut is a romantic delight that I wished would never end. The phone number might have been wrong, but every single thing about Mr Wrong Number is oh-so right (Libby Hubscher, author of Meet Me in Paradise)
Mr Wrong Number is a wildly addictive, wickedly funny tale of two seeming opposites - or are they? Fresh, original, and brimming with heart (Devon Daniels, author of Meet Me in the Middle)

Loved it. A simple, sweet, sexy, story and loved the narrations. Nothing unexpected but enjoyable.

I will listen to Callie Dalton read the phonebook.

Look this book had some positives to it. I will summarise these without spoilers. I loved the woman's character as a writer. I love the banter and the chemistry between the two characters. I love the narrators voices. These are the positives. Now the negative. The female protagonist was a bit of a train wreck I must say. I actually don’t like books where the character is written as someone irresponsible with little care and the worst food choices one can imagine whilst still looking hot (yeah right). This is all I will say, and I found it extremely frustrating as this book was so far removed from reality that it has deterred me from reading this writer's other books however, I may give her one more go before giving up on Ms Painter altogether.

Some parts of this book were good but only some

I wasn't sure about this book when I started as the narrator put me off a bit but then grew to learn she was the perfect narrative for Olivia. Absolutely loved Olivia as a character, she had me laughing out loud a several points in this book. Loved the silly carefree side of her and her fun loving outlook on life. And Colin, OMG. There were some wonderful spicy parts to this story which I thoroughly enjoyed. An easy listen which I couldn't put down, definitely recommend. Off to find more Lynn Painter with spice ;)
