Publisher's Summary

A SECRETARY LIKE NO OTHER
IN AN EPIC SPANNING 40 YEARS

All Hanna Fischer ever wanted to do was to study physics under the great Albert Einstein.

But when, as a teenager in 1919, her life is suddenly turned upside-down, she is catapulted into a new and extraordinary life - as a secretary, a scientist, a sister and a spy.

From racist gangs in Berlin to gangsters in New York City, Nazis in the 1930s and Hitler's inner circle during the Second World War, Hanna will encounter some of history's greatest minds and most terrible moments, all while desperately trying to stay alive.

She is a most unique secretary and she will work for many bosses - from shrewd businessmen to vile Nazis, to the greatest boss of them all, Mr Albert Einstein...

Spanning forty years, this is the thrilling tale of a young woman propelled through history's most dangerous times. But read it carefully, because all may not be as it seems...

Missing the old

This was I have to say an enjoyable listen BUT I really miss that action packed writing that Matthew does so well. I was so disappointed in his last book - couldn’t even finish it and that was a first for me and Matthew, I was happy that I at least enjoyed this book.

Great insight into Nazi Germany

As usual Matthew Reilly produces a book you don’t want to put down. Great story dwelling on the inside machinations of Nazi Germany from a different perspective tying in the brilliance and human side of Einstein.

A great historically aligned story

I loved the integration of a single persons story within a huge world historical fact. It made the whole story an exciting, edge of the seat listen. A beautiful narration that was easily to follow and was pleasant to listen to.

Awesome read, but different from Matthew's previous books.

ve been a long time fan of Matthew Reilly for over 20 years. I was surprised by his latest novel, covering the history of the 20's, 30's, and 40's, from Hannah's perspective.

I found it a little challenging to follow the story, but definitely will give it another listen again.

Can't wait for his next novel, hopefully with the Scarecrow
