Publisher's Summary

I'm Noah Weston. For a decade, I've quarterbacked America's most iconic football team and plowed my way through women. Now I'm transitioning from star player to retired jock - with a cloud of allegation hanging over my head. So I'm escaping to the private ocean-front paradise I bought for peace and quiet. What I get instead is stubborn, snarky, wild, lights-my-blood-on-fire Harlow Reed. Since she just left a relationship in a hugely viral way, she should be the last woman I'm seen with.

On second thought, we can help each other....

I need a steady, supportive "girlfriend" for the court of public opinion, not entanglements. Harlow is merely looking for nonstop sweaty sex that wrings pleasure from her oh-so-luscious body. Three months-that's how long it should take for us both to scratch this itch and leave our respective scandals behind. But the more I know this woman, the less I can picture my life without her. And when I'm forced to choose, I'll realize I don't merely want her in my bed or need her for a ruse. I more than love her enough to do whatever it takes to make her mine for good.

Contains mature themes.

GET THERAPY GIRL!

Noah was a man in some serious love & Harlow was a woman in need of some serious therapy. Harlow's issues & the push pull scenario she put Noah through made me want to shake Noah & tell him to kick her to the curb. While I understand that she had Mommy -Daddy issues after growing up with what I can't even call the Parents from Hell because I doubt that hell would accept them, she was just stupid sometimes.

Absolutely love this book

This was my favorite book in this series. I don’t know who is my favorite character Harlow or Noah, they are both worth rooting for. Noah is great and is just trying to figure what is going on with after his last concussion, can Harlow help him in to his retirement and his next career. Harlow just wants to hide out and sex, but is that all. These two are great together and the twists and turns. The way that the pregnancy scare with the “gold Digger” is great. Shayla Black has not disappointed with an absolutely wonderful book that I could not put down.

The narration has been wonderful. I have listened to this twice already.

Hot dirty-talking QB? Yes, please!!!

I think this book is my favorite in this series. Who doesn't love a hot alpha dirty-talking QB? Harlow was perfect for Noah, and he was the one person able to love and heal her. Using a tough, biting exterior, Harlow keeps everyone at arm's length, including her brothers. Noah, who sees through her walls, and is determined to break them down for her. I adored Noah, and his huge heart...and that, too! This was a great love story.

I listened to the audiobook version (because Christian Fox!), and it was wonderful. His gift w/voices is amazing, and they all shine brightly. The love scenes were scorching, no surprise from Shayla Black.

As with all the other books in this series, I can't wait for the next--and final book in this series.

I tried. Not a fan.

Honestly, I have to be realistic in my review for this novel. I listen to audiobooks in my car on speakers in my house and from my phone. As much as I love Christian Fox and I think he does a great job narrating both male and female voices I can’t hear him if there’s any sort of ambient noise around me like a shower his tone just drops too low and it’s unrecognizable. Because of that I rated this low. Additionally the story was just so much and so long and drawn out and while I love a fantasy romance novel this was just so extra far-fetched. I appreciate it some of the surprises and I won’t be a spoiler but I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in comparison to this one so far it’s my least favorite in the series.

Cute short story

Super cute and short. Tackles a serious topic of players getting concussions and how dangerous the outcome can be for them.

Hot, Sexy and heart warming

I love this couple. They set the sheets on fire but this book also hold some real life truth. As people we are all damaged in some way but LOVE really can heal. This couple is not perfect but they are perfect for each other and that is what in the end life is about. It’s learning to dance in the rain together. Love this book!

More than love - Shayla Black

Excellent writing ; perfect kind of romance with a softer touch. Christian Fox, (again I say) is such. Great narrator. His voice is so soothing I sometimes just fall asleep and when I awake it’s been about 2 hrs and I have to find the place I left off on. Great Series.🥃

Good

This was a good listen. One issue is how easy it is for people to jump to conclusion without talking to the person that they know they love. I know it makes for a good storyline, it still makes me not want to finish the listen. Maybe there are people like this in the world, hear the person out before you just run. Again I know they have to make the listen interesting.

Christian Fox 's voice is perfection!

Christian Fox's voice is just pure velvet chocolate.....SMOOTH!!! Now the story.....well it had a tad too much going on along with the h being a wet rag and H a lovesick puppy including a frustrating amount of inner dialogue. I'm really not sure how it still worked for me, but it did.......maybe it was Christian Fox's voice. Yep,it was!

bad narration

lots of steamy hot sex! great characters! the narrator completely ruins the story by fluctuating dramatically throughout the ENTIRE story.
