okay so let me preface this with saying the STORY is great, and Zachary is brilliant as always.

however.. the other VA was not working for me this time. I actually DNF THREE TIMES and gave up on the series, because he made a really sweet, selfless character sound utterly unlikable and insufferable. it was so overwhelming I thought the writer had totally assassinated the poor character personality.

I decided to try reading rather than listening, and WOW the difference without the voiceover. totally different personalities.

so yeah, listening again for a FOURTH attempt, and I'm drawing the same conclusion. Zachary is flawless, the story is just as good as the previous books, but the other VA just made HIS characters totally unlikable.

it hurts, because I really enjoy the author and Zachary's work. I WANT to love it, but I'm truly struggling to finish this audio version.
