Publisher's Summary

Fate has a wicked sense of humor.

When I was 16, I met the love of my life in magic school. He'd appear exactly once a year at the annual masquerade ball, then vanish...

Fast forward to the present: To the night I’m attacked and my hidden wolf emerges. As it turns out, I’m a freakin’ hairy, tail-wagging, shape-shifting werewolf so instead of returning to the human world after graduating, I’m dragged to Moon Valley to control my inner beast. Only problem is, I’m not just a wolf.

And someone wants me dead because of it.

When I meet the alpha heir, sparks fly. And bombshell - he’s my supposed wolfy fated mate, but he’s nothing like the boy I loved. He’s cold, sullen, a total jerk but impossibly gorgeous. Of course. And he’s got secrets too. Despite hating him most days, I can’t deny the irresistible attraction...and neither can he. Even after he rejects me.

Little does he know, I’m more than capable of taking care of myself - maybe even capable of taking his claim as alpha.

If you love Leia Stone's Wolf Girl, Linsey Hall's Darkest Moon and Jaymin Eve's Rejected, start listening now!

This is an upper YA/NA crossover with schmexy alpha wolves and is best suited for ages 16+. Be warned this is a slow burn enemies-to-lovers romance, and the steaminess factor does increase through the course of the series!

Wolfish is set within the world of Azar, along with (in listening order) HitchedDarkblood AcademyRoyally Hitched, and Darkblood Prison but it's not necessary to listen to the other series first to enjoy this one.

Enjoyable overall

To be honest, when i listen to new Shifter stories, i prefer the dramatic transformation, opening up an unknown world. This is Not such a book as she already exists in the supernatural world at the beginning of the story. I didn't particularly enjoy the time shift, reminiscing of the past which is a fairly big part of this book, i much prefer a linea timeline but having said that, i do like the main character, her best friend and her royal friend but i don't like the so called love interest, he's just an arse, she would have been so much happier in a relationship with the best free female friend or the royal friend.

This is not a quick, action packed story, but it did hold my interest enough for me to buy book 2, in spite of the poor review i read.

I recommend this to people who enjoy shifter stories as it is different enough to be interesting. However, I recommend it with reservations in that you should go in with the expectation of the all too familiar, given this genre, love interest is an arse to the MC. Also, as you see in the description, she is a witch without powers. I have got to the point I've listened to too many witch without power stories and have come to much prefer stories where the witch comes into a small amount of power and builds upon her powers as the story progresses, this is not this case, at least not in book 1.
