Rien. She doesn't know it, but she's already mine. They all are. They cry. They scream. They beg for their lives. The truth of it is, they're all wearing masks - even me. I'm just the only one who's not afraid to look at what lies beneath.

Sara. My hands are tied behind my back. Even if I could get loose, I'm locked inside the plastic surgeon's library. He's in the next room, killing someone. And if I said I wanted him to let me go, I'd be lying.

Dark past bring brighter futures

I enjoyed this audio. The character development was good. The backstory of both characters was well described and I was invested in both of them. The narrator did a good job. I would have enjoyed a little bit more darkness because I felt that both characters were headed that direction, we just never reach that point. It's a easy listen and overall enjoyable.

Disappointing male voices...

This is one that would be better read rather than listened to. The overall performance was overly dramatic in areas where it didn't need to be and all the male voices were a disappointment. The male voices were all too whiney and feminine. I didn't even realize that the doctor was supposed to be a man in the first scenes. I had to go back and read the description of the book again to make sure the book was about a man and woman rather than two women.

Love it!

This reminds me of Dexter. When Dexter murdered bad people for good a reason save the world.

Mine: A Dark Erotic Romance Novel...

Well I was disappointed because I honestly could not tell a difference in between the male and female voices from the narrator so I stayed in a constant state of confusion so I just stopped listening and removed it from my device. I will have to just read this novel. I like dark romances so I was looking forward to that. So unless they do a remake with a different narrator, like Saskia Maarleveld, Erin Mallon, Muffy Newton, Ava Erickson... Don't get it.

Ok listen

Would you listen to another book narrated by Carly Robins?

I like Carly as a narrator. That was part of the reason I bought this book on Audible

Do you think Mine needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. The Story is pretty much complete.

Any additional comments?

2.5 stars I just really wasn't feeling this book. The connection between Rian and Sarah just seemed too forced. I expected something more like the first book and I don't think it got that. I liked Sarah but Rian was just ...... I dunno. Some parts where good but in the end, it just didn't do it for me. I liked the first book so that may be better for you if you are new to this author.

Great story, horrible narration......don’t let that stop u

Pleasantly surprised it didn’t continue from the first, but started a new story. Successful and freshly written in its own right. Again an authentic story with very real and raw characters. With a past and story of their own that just had to be told. Gal also makes a visit in this book which was nice. It lets us know there is some type of serial killer black market underground shit going on....

The heroine in this story was different, refreshing, funny at times and yes very different from the first. The hero was also different. I liked him, he also killed for different reasons and had his own voice and story which was well worth reading about. Sex was hot, characters had serious chemistry......😜🥰😘

Again my only complaint is if you like the audiobook it’s a Duet and only the female tells their story but once again I became invested and fell in love with these broken yet interesting characters. So please if you want to listen don’t let this dissuade you.....

Well worth the read......

Casual racism.

It stops with me. Rewrite your book; it’s 2020. STOP the negative stereotype or prejudices about people on the basis of race, or ethnicity.

tough story

This is one of the darkest "romance" novels I have listened to. Not easy listening but if you are not squeamish and like very dark stories this could be for you. I do not think I would listen to another book like it. It was to disturbing but definitely reveting.

3.5 stars

This was my first Aubrey Dark book, and I will say it was a rather unique storyline. I gave it a try because someone compared it to Dexter which I believe is a fair comparison. It wasn't the most bizarre story I have ever listened to but it might make it in my top 10 list. Carly Robins did a good job narrating this story although it took awhile for me to figure out if Rien was a male or female character because I couldn't tell by the voice.

Male Voice

Would have preferred a male voice for the male character Rein. However good story overall
