A lovely read by Kate Binchy who absolutely brings Maeve Binchy’s characters to life. I shed a few tears in this story.

I loved the characterisation in this book and the wonderful way Kate was able to make the players come alive through her narration. I was left with a few questions in the end, in particular with regards to Maura. however this did not detract from my thorough enjoyment of the book. Truly a warm and heartwarming slice of life….as comforting as a hot cup of chocolate on a cold day.

This story was heartwarming, with old characters mixed in with some new and set in a more modern time, without loosing its charm. I love the way Maeve writes but the combination of Maeve & Kate is dynamite.

I found it a bit tedious - a slow moving novel, a story about a whole bunch of characters and how they fit together. I found it slow moving, but it did leave you with a clear message that love is the thing, and if you stick together and look after each other, anything is possible.
