Publisher's Summary

More than seven years after his death, Michael Jackson continues to fascinate the world. Shana Mangatal was one of Jackson's only constant and true rocks of stability for nearly two decades. Their relationship was quiet and sweet and real - a closely guarded secret, known only to a few trusted employees and friends. Shana is now coming forward to tell their love story. Her story is rich with every little detail. She witnessed the scandals, lawsuits, the release of groundbreaking albums and subsequent world tours, big-budget short films, and addictions. Michael and Me entertains and inspires, but above all, Shana continues to treat Michael (and his legacy) with respect. This is not an exploitative tell-all, but rather a book that shows the side of Michael people never knew. In it, Shana paints a more intimate picture of this beloved, yet very misunderstood man.

Wow

This book really paints Michael in a different light then what the audiences knew. He's seen here as a dominant, powerful, passionate man and lover but also as extremely vulnerable and most importantly, innocent and lost man. The fact he never just settled down with Shana truly mind blows me. I guess he never took their relationship as seriously as she did which is honestly heartbreaking. I feel for this woman and all the confusion she went through but I also truly believe she is being honest and genuine here as despite how she wrote about Michael you could tell she truly loved him.

The story of a fan

At first, I was really interested in this book but then I watched Shana’s video on YouTube about Michael’s secret place or something and realized everything. I believe that the story is true but all in all she always was a fan of him more than a friend. This is Shana’s side of the story. What I mean is, yeah, probably he spent some time with her but their relationship wasn't very usual, Michael was too smart to not understand that she could do everything if he would want and you can feel that in this book or in the video on YouTube just by listening to the way she talks about him. She doesn't talk about him as a someone who was equal to her but the friendship is about being with a person no matter how popular he is and seeing him as someone who is equal to you. I really feel bad for Michael, he didn't have a lot of people around who treated him like a simple person and he really wanted to feel normal.
