About this listen

From the beloved creator of Lonely Hearts Radio and Wild Hearts comes an enchanting new story about love's ability to heal the deepest family divides.
In the picturesque Cornish seaside town of St. Bodwell, the Daveys and the Chenoweths have been entrenched in a bitter feud for centuries. But when local historian Sam Chenoweth begins curating an exhibition on the ill-fated 19th century romance between his ancestor Ada Chenoweth and John Davey, he finds an unexpected ally in Abbie Davey.
As they work together uncovering Ada and John's tragic love story, a surprising connection blossoms between Sam and Abbie. Despite dark family secrets and lies, their growing intimacy has the power to not only bring the exhibition to vivid life, but to finally shatter the cycle of hatred between their families and lay some restless old ghosts to rest at last.
Weaving together a irresistible historical love story and a modern romance, Mending Hearts is an uplifting reminder that even the most tattered bonds can be repaired, one stitch at a time.

A love story hidden in all sorts of places for all sorts of reasons over the centuries. Great story, just a bit disappointed in the male version as he was quite formal and stiff would have liked to hear. Less refined voice for this part!

A great historical love story

I loved the history of the area seamlessly worked into the story, as well as the knowledge of curation and visible mending that added a lovely depth.

Mending hearts stitched it up in the best way

The story line had a lot of potential but I felt in the end it was lacking. Decent background read

It was ok..

An easy listen, about a young couple falling in love. Both from families that have been holding historic grudges for 200 years. Sam and Abbey work on creating an exhibition in the local museum, which unearths some interesting truths. I enjoyed the side story of Abbey's work - sewing and her relationship to crafting and mending.

Cute love story entwining love, crafting and history

A nice flowing easy to follow story and informative as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Easy on the ear.

Ok concept but it wasn't terribly engaging. Some of the discussions or comments made by the characters were a bit preachy and trying to be politically correct or making a point. The narrators were ok but the male sounded like he was narrating a children's book and was a bit overly-perky. An easy book to listen to in the background.

Ok, but a bit soppy and preachy

I enjoyed the family saga over the decades and how the truth always reveals itself somehow. Very keen to explore the ‘visible mending’ movement too!

Something different

I loved the tradition and research that is woven into the book. It adds depth to the characters it is connected with

This is a good story
