Not horrible

Very abrupt ending but at least it didn't go in the direction of aliens! Kudos for that!!

The love the Meg series

I wish the book was longer I didn't like how it ended can't wait for the next book. Should be great since it will be the final in the series.

below expectations

this had so much promise, but failed to live up to expectations. jumper way to often from scene to scene and was hard to follow. still a good book, but way below his talent level.

OMG this series keeps getting better!

I wasn't sure about this entry at first. it seemed to jump around and have too much back story. But that's probably good for new readers. It's all came together at the end though and now I'm breathlessly waiting for the next book.

Didn’t meet expectations

Been really looking forward to this book and my mistake was probably getting it on audible. The narrator was not that good. The story itself was mediocre compared to his earliest stuff. The first book and Hells Aquarium are my all time favorites. The last book seemed to put there and this book, I feel, ignored a lot of what happened in the previous book. For example: last book had Jonas go to the hospital for a blood clot and the doctors telling him no more deep dives or your dead, which is why Terry had to go down the next time. I don’t was really hoping this book would have redeemed the last one but now I don’t know if I want to continue reading.

Longtime fan, but this wasn't a great book

Way too many fragmented storylines going on, jumping back and forth minute to minute. This book is also solely written with the purpose of setting up another book which feels cheap and leaves a flat feeling when done. Not a single memorable encounter occurs aside from possibly the last line of the book...I am a huge fan of the first 4 books, origins was fine but it's a short story, after those the series has gone off a cliff. I am still unsure which I disliked more, this book or Nightstalkers. Nightstalkers had time travel, aliens and other nonsense storylines but at least had Meg interaction as this is a series about Megs, right? If you love stories about Megs and sharks, then this is honestly not for you. This book has very little to do with them. Also why does the Author incessantly use the term Iphone. Did Apple pay for product placement? Just say phone like every person in the world does. It happens to often that it is jarring to a reader trying to stay in the story.
It was so convoluted and forgettable that everytime I came back to the book even after a short break, I had to go back a few minutes to figure out what was happening.

Not finished

Unusual for Mr Allen to write a cliffhanger hopefully the next part will not be long in coming,

Disappointed with this instalment

I've been a fan of the Meg series from the start, but for me I think the series peaked at Hells Aquarium. At this point with the characters having 30 years experience dealing with these creatures you would hope that at least sometimes a plan would succeed without death and destruction. Surely the Taylors can't keep making these same mistakes and still be the go to choice for capturing and housing these eating machines?

Ultimately the reworking of people get eaten by sea monsters is what the series is all about, and there are only so many ways this can be done, so fair enough. However the pseudo-scientific tangents are getting too convoluted to keep track of and really ruined this and the previous book for me. The crossover with Vostok in the previous book was terrible (some sort of time travel, I have no idea what the writer was going for but it made no sense), and the tangents in this one dealing with stem cell miracle cures and acupuncture (?!) were totally bizarre and painful to listen to.

I think the author might be running out of ideas and it may be time to leave the Mariana Trench and its inhabitants alone for good.

He even gave morgan freemans voice a try!

Was a brilliant read by Keith Szarabajka, great story by Steve Alten. Kind of saw the ending coming somewhat but was disappointed at the cliff hanger type ending. Now im going to have to wait what will feel like an eternity for the next book. I'm addicted enough Steve! I don't need cliff hangers thrown into the mix!
Highly recommend this book series as always, amazing stories that make my day. I find myself not wanted to get out of the car when i listen to these books.

Fantastic

A great book, from a great author, I have loved this series ever since I bought the my first cope of meg when it was first released. Ever since then I have never been able to get enough of them!!!

I have been waiting for Generations for what seems like ages, but it has all been so worth while, the story was fast paced with good introduction of new characters and returning favourites. Once again we’ve been left with a really epic cliff hanger, so here comes the wait for the next book.

This is a great book, referencing parts from previous novels which was a nice touch as it has made me now want to go back and go through them again!!

I would like to thank Steve for this series and all his other great works he has done, it has kept me entertained and enthralled for hours.
