This is my new favorite romance!

This is my first book by Claudia Bergman, and I’m so glad that I started with this book. I could not put it down. I was was hooked right from the beginning. There were so many good things about it, humor, perfect quotes, a bit of suspense, and always the necessary tears. I started recommending it before I was halfway through listening to it.

The narrators did an excellent job. The duet narration was really special. I love when Grace Grant narrates romantic comedy, she does humor so well. She and Sebastian York make a perfect pair.

Many thanks for making my weekend extra enjoyable. I’m going to listen to it all over again, right now.

Maybe Later

I believe this is the third book of Claudia's I have read, and they have all been different but so much fun to read.

Jackson is a grumpy CEO whose assistant is going on maternity leave. In her place she hires Amy, a virtual assistant. I absolutely loved the emails and chats that the book begins with. We get to know both characters fairly well, and Amy is good at her job and hilarious when she refuses to put up with his attitude.

Their relationship from boss and employee to starts to change when Amy helps Jackson experience new things from music to art to food. All their exchanges have a good amount of humor and made me laugh a lot as I read. It was fun to see how their relationship developed as the story progessed.

I really enjoyed this take on the boss/employee trope and the narrators did an excellent job. They were easy to listen to and fit the characters and story perfectly.

I fell hard for Jackson & Amy and so will you!

I absolutely loved this unique, and refreshing romance. I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this virtual rom-com. What I found was witty banter, an intriguing storyline, engaging characters, and hot sexual tension that leaped off the page. Amy is Jackson's new virtual assistant. She knows just how to handle the surly, demanding CEO. Jackson has never been challenged like this before, and they soon begin discussing more than their daily tasks. Outside of work, they have each started dating someone new. But the virtual connection is just as intoxicating for them both as the physical. Their daily text messages have allowed them to form a bond that no one else has with them. But their new relationships are just as inviting, and captivating, confusing them both. If you think you've read/listened to this story before, trust me, you haven't. This is a wonderful, witty, steamy story that will mesmerize you, and capture your heart.
I devoured this book when I read it, but listening to it made it a real treat. Sebastian York, and Grace Grant made these smart, witty, sexy, characters come to life so effortlessly, pulling me competely into their world. It never feels like they are reading or performing, they just are, and that is why I could listen again and again. I fell hard for these characters and so will you, I promise!

love the narrators, story only okay...

The story is brutally tense and the main character female is so anti relationship its hard to believe that she's able to let her walls down, finally, in the last 5 minutes of the book.

Different way of telling the story, loved it.

This was definitely an intriguing story in the format of the telling. It was witty and comedic as well as romantic. Emiline used a fake persona (Amy) for work to protect herself. She was a smart cookie, having built up her own business successfully and managed a great number of tasks. Her past held her back from living. Then her life intersected with grumpy Jackson, and the fireworks went off. He was so set in his ways that he had trouble accepting the changes Amy/Emiline made. I loved how they helped each other move forward with their lives, even had moments of tears and smiles. These two were a fun couple. I also enjoyed the combination of Sebastian York and Grace Grant as they gave voice to Jack and Emiline.

I received this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Fun and charming slow burn romance

I listened to the audiobook of Maybe Later by Claudia Y. Burgoa, narrated by Sebastian York and Grace Grant, and I loved it. This was a slow burn romance with characters that had great chemistry and banter. A reclusive CEO in need of an assistant and the virtual assistant who is going to rock his world. I was captivated from start to finish and could not stop listening!

Jackson Spearman does not play well with others and is practically a recluse. Trusting new people is very difficult, but when his current assistant goes on maternity leave, he needs someone to step in. Enter Amy and though she gets the job done, he finds her to be more open and persistent than he prefers. Jackson was cranky and aloof at the beginning, but we get to see more of him as the story progresses. On the other hand, Amy was cheerful, outgoing and a very hard worker.

I loved their interactions so much; they were fun and flirty. I loved listening to Maybe Later by Claudia Y. Burgoa. I found it to be funny, charming, and unique.

Happy listening!

Could have been done in half the time....

not one of my favorites. It felt too draw out. The text reading in the beginning almost made me return the book. Annoying to hear the name, date and time repeated over and over.

Taming the Dragon

Sebastian York was amazing in this audiobook, he put so much context into the words, brought out the emotions, and made everything feel more real. Paired with Grace Grant, it was just so much fun listening to them.

The book begins with a series of emails between an overbearing CEO, and his temporary virtual assistant covering for Jackson's assistant who is out on maternity leave. He starts out as "impatient, aggressive, micromanaging, and somewhat of a social pariah." Three months of working with her completely changes him.

The back and forth was hilarious, as she slowly but surely worked her magic on him. I've never seen a character like the heroine. She constantly spars with the him (he wants a Reuben sandwich for lunch, she sends him sushi, he wants his coffee, she says to get it himself), she sends a daily quote, and then she starts sending him daily music playlists. She is scary smart, with so many connections she seems like a magician finding solutions. But along the way, they began to have feelings for each other, all while holding back personal information due to trust issues.

I loved watching how she slowly helped him become a better person, to be more aware of the people around them and the work they do for him, and to look outside of his family to really see and appreciate other people.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

Jackson and Amy!

Jackson is a demanding, overbearing grumpy boss. He has set standards that are impossible to meet and any relations with his staff are strictly professional and he doesn’t want anyone getting too close. When he needs to replace his assistant temporarily a virtual assistant is hired, and she is everything he doesn’t want in an employee.

Amy couldn’t be more different than Jackson. Where he doesn’t allow anyone close, she hasn’t met a person she hasn’t liked. She is the sun compared to his dark clouds and she gives as good as she gets when it comes to the interactions between them.

As they adjust to working together their relationship evolves into a friendship and even though they have never met the flirting begins. They both have secrets so will they be willing to take a chance on meeting each other and see what they could have or will they be afraid to take the leap and enjoy the relationship they already have?

These two couldn’t be more different or more perfect for each other and there is no denying the chemistry and connection between them. The dual narration added an extra layer to the story and the narrators were a perfect choice for the characters.

Fabulous!

Absolutely loved this author's first foray into romcom when it released a couple of years and it was wonderful to listen to Jackson and Amy's story again.

Jackson Spearman is something of a 'problem child'. He's difficult, demanding, cold and a workaholic. When his PA goes on maternity leave, she sets him up with a virtual assistant - Amy Walker. She's not quite what he wants but he's locked into a contract, and even if he bought his way out of it, he'll be stuck without a PA for months, as no one wants to work for him.

Amy Walker is like a ray of sunshine with her chirpy attitude, her inspirational quotes of the day, and her music playlist. He has no digital footprint so Amy has no idea who she's working for. She's fantastic at her job but somewhat reclusive, preferring to interact with the outside world from behind her computer screen.

As the two of them exchange emails and messages, what starts off as prickly snarkiness between them, slowly develops into a great working relationship, and also curiosity about each other in real life. When they both meet possible relationship candidates, their feelings start getting torn because it's ridiculous to have feelings for someone you've never met face to face - and not even seen a picture of them. Right?

I just adored this story! The exchanges between Amy and Jackson were funny, witty, often biting, but you could really see how things changed between them, and how well they suited each other. When Amy and Jackson both meet other people in real life, you could see just how mixed up they felt. Both were carrying scars from the past and both had to learn to trust again. They had fabulous, hot chemistry, and I adored the conclusion. The narrators really brought this story to life, especially as they actually spoke the roles during all the message exchanges. SebYo was as glorious as usual in the role of snarky, grumpy, sexy Jackson. Grace Grant did a fab job as the super smart, efficient, direct Amy who also had a vulnerable core. Absolutely loved it!

Plenty of witty banter in this romance

A really enjoyable romcom. Confusion over identities almost prevents love from blossoming between Amy and Jackson. But true love wins in the end.
Excellent narration throughout especially with the sexy voice of Sebastian ❤❤❤
