Great series, Even better humor and sarcasm !!!!
Book two is equally as good as the first. If you haven’t listened to April’s Fool you should! I enjoyed it, thought it was worth listening to so much I recently listened to it again.
This book is just as good. I’m the first book Sam Cable is accused of a murder he did not commit. In this book he’s assigned to retrieve a prisoner accused of murdering someone. Of course once she sees him she remembers his case and tries to convince him that she too is innocent. Cable wants nothing to do with this until... the plane he on with this woman has to make a crash landing. When a rescue helicopter shows up and begins firing at them he’s convinced there’s something none to kosher going on. With a prisoner and an injured pilot Cable makes a daring escape.
This book is fast paced and full of surprises.
J. Scott Bennett narration is top notch.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Action, Adventure and Humor
May Day by Scott Bell features Texas Ranger Sam Cable. This book pulled me in immediately. I loved the surprises, action, and fast paced story. J. Scott Bennett was perfect bringing the characters to life. He adds the right emotions to his voice. The sarcasm added to the book too. I really enjoyed this listen!

Thrilling story with great characters
A great second book in the Sam Cable series, it grabs your attention, has great characters, snarky humor and a thrilling, good guy vs bad guy plot. Texas Ranger, Sam Cable, is sent to pick up a prisoner but things are not as simple as it seems and definitely do not go as planned. A plane crash has Sam stranded in a remote area with a badly injured pilot, a beautiful prisoner accused of killing a cop and a group of assailants trying to kill them. I really enjoyed this audiobook, the narration was very well done, and the story was the right mix of intrigue, action, suspense and humour. I loved that Jade Stone was a strong character who was just as capable as Sam when it came to surviving. The humour and chemistry between the two of them was great and I loved the twist in the story at the end. I will look forward to the next book in the series.

Intense action
This book revolves around the relationship between a Texas Ranger and the prisoner who must survive after a plane crash while evading people trying to kill them. The action is so intense and keeps you involved in the story throughout.
The narrator is outstanding and "drags" you into the story line with him.

Move over Walker, Texas Ranger!
Walker, Texas Ranger has nothing on Texas Ranger Sam Cable. Sam is a bad@$$ Ranger who is snarky and hilarious. I have never laughed this hard...while listening to a police drama, no less. This is my first foray into the Sam Cable series and it will not be my last. Excellent narration!

“When a ranger falls in the Forrest can you hear him scream”
A brilliant listen. Filled to the brim with action, intensity, snark and brilliant quips and one-liners that made me laugh out loud. I really hope there more Sam Cable to come as I thoroughly enjoyed these first 2 books and they’re just so easy to listen to despite everything that goes on in them!!
Mr Bennett’s narration is perfectly suited to this story and has some great character voices to call upon; there’s never any confusion as to which characters speaking and he’s a great storyteller!
I loved this from beginning to end and I did t want to stop listening.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.
