One of my favourite Heyer novels. The narration wasn’t the best, unfortunately. The narrator did eventually get into the rhythm, but particularly at the beginning there were a lot of odd pauses, off cadences and mispronounced words. The strange drawl she had for some of the characters made them sound like idiots.

It’s a curious story but nevertheless it’s GH to a tee! Really worth a listen!

The reader of the book mispronounced a number of quite common words. Does no one check before the audio book is released? It’s very annoying and spoils an otherwise nice presentation.

I found some parts of this story a bit hard to follow - lots of conversation with not much narration, etc. but I am generally a fan of Georgette Heyer and there were some good moments all the same. I’m wondering if this was a case of a well known author having the publisher putting on the pressure for the next book. I probably wouldn’t recommend this one personally.
