Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

A sinister plot that will devastate the Western world. A 2,000-year-old mystery that still lurks in the depths....

When Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon answer a distress call from a research ship, nothing can prepare them for what they find.

A strange and dangerous toxin has left the crew helpless, unable to move or speak. And when a further attack leaves hundreds more paralysed, Juan and his team must race to find an antidote before the damage becomes permanent.

Their search for answers leads to a Roman soldier's long-lost testimony, revealing ancient events that strangely parallel their own. But with time running out and a ruthless enemy determined to seize power at any price, it will take all of Juan's ingenuity and skill to piece together the millennia-old mystery and save the West from the point of no return....

Explosive action, high-octane pacing and razor-sharp plotting ensure Clive Cussler's unassailable reputation as the Grandmaster of Adventure remains intact.

Enjoyable and bittersweet

As Clive Cussler’s last book released before his death this is both enjoyable and bittersweet. Great ending for the series.

Another Great Book

Really enjoyed this book - particularly the Aussie connection (even if no Aussie would ever think about doing such a thing)

Aussie Acebts

Aussie accents were really badly overdone and almost spoiled a good novel but not quite

The last great story from the master.

As a long term fan of Clive Cussler I was sad to see that this is his last novel.
Released posthumously I started listening knowing the stories would end here.
I was then delighted to see that it was set here in Australia. Something I had been hoping for for quite some time.
Scott Bricks excellent performance (always a highlight of these books) was let down by his awful Australian accents. But then again no American can do a convincing Aussie accent.
Exciting, suspenseful and very believable.
One of his best. Clive went out with the style and skill we may never see again.

Another great story

Loved it but wonder why the Aussie accent is so difficult, we aren't South Afftrican.
A great story once again.

Marauder

As usual with The Oregon Series the Story was excellent. I only hope with the sad passing of Clive that the mantle is taken up & continued.
My one Complaint with the story was the atrocious “Australian” accents, the only thing missing was “Crikey Dingo” at the end of every sentence.
I usually like Scott’s narrative, but that was an offence to any Australian, sorry we don’t all sound like Alf Stewart from Home & Away.
Other than that a great listen.

Another great adventure with twists and turns. I enjoy Scott Brick’s narration but sadly he does not do a good Australian accent

Marauder

As usual a goo d story well told but sorely in need of a better informed accent performer re Australia. Being Australian it was painful to listen to the atrocious parody of an Australian accent, so much room to up your game !!!

Unstoppable.

Having read all the Oregon files to date the thing I noticed most is that these stories seem to get better and better and better. This one was unstoppable in more than one way or another. Excuse the pun. Juan Cabrillo and his team of brilliant fun, I love the humour in the face of danger.
Scott Bricks narration is what brings the story to life. When the intensity increases so does his speed and emphasis to bring the point across. Wonderful highly highly recommended.

a little predictable

I have lisented to all the Organ file books, and they have always left me wanting more, the moroder is no exception. however for this one to follow the final option, in my opinion probably the best book in the series. it has so many twist and turns it was impossible to predict, even after listening to it over 5 time, I think the Moroder, was a little predictable, and the bad guy lacked enthusiasm. over all still a good book and well worth a listen.

A really good read all the way through.

Some times you feel like jumping in and helping the team, when things go wrong, however they always come through all by themselves, thats what makes these books so darn hard to stop reading.

Another great Oregon Files adventure!

A great story! I think there are some 'hidden' capabilities not yet revealed for the new ship. Already looking forward to the next installment.
RIP Clive, I hope your 'partner' author's are going to carry your mantle for many more years!

Slightly weird audio in places, so I will try my next book at the higher quality. The narrator was good, but not excellent, hence the 4 star for performance.

Cracking Story

One again the narration is spot on. Read the book in one day session and have listened to it a couple of times. It doesnt really state the full capabilities of the new ship. Hope it will be more explained in the next book.

Didn't feel as well rounded as early cussler books

it was more like a first draft than a finished novel.
based on cusslers work, but not as well executed.
