There is so much in this book - the tension does not let up at any stage. Some wonderful new characters and relationships are introduced, enhancing the already compelling characters of Evie and Cyrus. Robotham follows the precedent of masters such as Stephen King in using the depth of his characters to draw the reader deeply into the plot, to make us truly care about what happens to them. He almost seems to toy with us, too, as we flip between love and hate for them in all their frustrating, flawed humanity. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for this series - surely there is more to come.

I really enjoy Michael’s stories and this one doesn’t disappoint. I also love watching Evie and Cyrus relationship evolve. Can’t wait for the next one !!
