About this listen

After successfully matchmaking within the Sydney desi community for years, Nas has decided to open a marriage agency to help all Australians find love. With 17 years of marriage to his dream woman Tasnim under his belt, he's keen to help others find the same happiness that he's had. But what he sees as a perfect, happy match isn't necessarily what something others agree on - including Tasnim.

Before long, the cracks in Nas and Tasnim's marriage are beginning to show, and Salima, their 16-year-old daughter, is caught in the middle. Which parent will she side with, if either one at all? She’s got her own complicated life going on, one that her parents seem too busy to notice. Maybe it's time for her to break some rules and follow her heart at last?

INSPIRING, INTERESTING

Pros: Easy listening, light story, fine, could listen to it at 1.75x without missing anything or having to really concentrate. Was nice to hear the various perspectives. Free.

Cons: Leans heavily and repetitively into stereotypes (Indians, hippies, teens, etc), character arcs stereotypical and a bit shallow, storyline unrealistic at times (a whole family turning up unannounced to a "commune"/farm and are fed, accommodated and invited to stay indefinitely?). Feels like it was written by someone who only vaguely knows Australia/Australian culture and attempted to imitate it.

Fine, for a free book

Didn’t think the story went anywhere or reached any conclusions or point. Only one part of the story that was humorous and consistent throughout.

Glad it was as free☹️.

I didn’t find the book very engaging. I’m glad it was free.

It was too predictable and cheesy. Good if you want something very light and easy to follow.

Simplistic

Loved this free book from audible from the first page. Heartwarming and lovely, easy to follow the characters. As a 44-yo woman completely weary from the dating apps, this concept is refreshing! I would be the first to hit up this marriage agency!
