Story
As Faith tries on her future mother-in-law’s wedding dress in preparation for her own wedding, her tears are not of joy. Story
My hand trembles as I stare at the anonymous text. On this sunny Saturday morning, our twin ten-year-old boys were playing in the park just down our tree-lined street. But only one of them has come home… and it’s all my husband’s fault. I race to Leo’s study and demand answers. As his face turns white, I know: one of his affairs has turned deadly. I always smell the unfamiliar perfume on his shirt. I try to pretend we are a happy family, for the sake of the children… but now, my child is in terrible danger.

Thirlmere hides a deadly secret... Drought hits the Lake District, uncovering a skeleton at the bottom of Thirlmere reservoir. Story
Mum passed recently. It was sudden and unexpected. On the cusp of adulthood, my twin sister, Skye, and I are left with decisions to make that will change our lives forever. As identical twins, we’d normally stick together like glue, but anger and grief gets the better of us and we push and pull in different directions. At an impasse, each of us stubbornly gets our wish. Finding myself alone and without the other half of me, I’m desperately lonely. I need a friend. But, when I find that special someone, I know I’ve made a terrible mistake and trusted the wrong person.

Story
Dolly Jamieson is not homeless, she's merely between permanent abodes. The 78-year-old spends her days keeping warm at the local library, where she enjoys sparring with the officious head librarian and helping herself to the free morning tea. It's not so bad, really. But it's certainly a far cry from the 1960s, when this humble girl from Geelong became an international star of the stage. As the acclaimed lead in the Broadway production of The Rose of France, all Dolly's dreams had come true. So how, in her old age, did she end up here?

Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The funny, moving and uplifting new novel from Ruth Jones, co-creator of Gavin & Stacey and author of the Sunday Times bestsellers Never Greener and Us Three.
Grace is about to turn ninety. She doesn't want parties or presents or fuss. She just wants to heal the family rift that's been breaking her heart for decades.
But to do that she must find her daughter Alys—the only person who can help to put things right.
And when she finds her—if she does—she risks betraying granddaughter Elin. Who is far less forgiving of the past, with its hurts and secrets and lies. Meanwhile Grace's great-grand-daughter Beca is oblivious to all these worries, too busy navigating the highs and lows of teenage life and keeping secrets of her own.
All families have their problems. And most of them get resolved. But Grace's problem is thirty years old. And she doesn't have time on her side.
So is it too late for her to make peace? Or is reconciliation still within reach?
Love Untold is about mothers and daughters and the complex bond between them. It's about the heartache that comes from leaving things unsaid and the power of true forgiveness. It is a joy-filled, life-affirming, sob-inducing novel—with characters you'll come to know and love—from no.1 bestselling author Ruth Jones.

A pleasure to return to for each instalment.
Gently, fittingly undulating like the Welsh valleys, this novel takes you through the whole gamut of human emotions whilst on a inter-generational journey through time and social change. Never predictable and with a resolution based on the unexpected, the ending is satisfying but I was sad this wonderful novel had to end at all. Just loved Ruth as the narrator so I’m glad I listened rather than read as my inner voice would not have made the characters come alive like she did. My garden’s come on a treat with the time I spent in it listening to this!
