Story
The film Rabbit-Proof Fence is based on this true account of Doris Pilkington's mother, Molly, who as a young girl led her two sisters on an extraordinary 1,600 kilometre walk home. Under Western Australia's invidious removal policy of the 1930s, the girls were taken from their Aboriginal families at Jigalong on the edge of the Little Sandy Desert, and transported halfway across the state to the Native Settlement at Moore River, north of Perth. Here Aboriginal children were instructed in the ways of white society and forbidden to speak their native tongue.

Story
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction,” eating little and weighing herself five times a day. She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income.

Publisher's Summary
Trent Dalton, Australia's best-loved writer, goes out into the world and asks a simple, direct question: Can you please tell me a love story?
A blind man yearns to see the face of his wife of 30 years. A divorced mother has a secret love affair with a priest. A geologist discovers a three-minute video recorded by his wife before she died. A tree lopper's heart falls in a forest. A working mum contemplates taking photographs of her late husband down from her fridge. A girl writes a last letter to the man she loves most, then sets it on fire. A palliative care nurse helps a dying woman converse with the angel at the end of her bed. A renowned 100-year-old scientist ponders the one great earthly puzzle he was never able to solve: What is love?
Endless stories. Human stories. Love stories.
Inspired by a personal moment of profound love and generosity, Trent Dalton, best-selling author and one of Australia's finest journalists, spent two months in 2021 speaking to people from all walks of life, asking them one simple and direct question: Can you please tell me a love story? The result is an immensely warm, poignant, funny, and moving book about love in all its guises, including observations, reflections and stories of people falling into love, falling out of love, and never letting go of the loved ones in their hearts. A heartfelt, deep, wise, and tingly tribute to the greatest thing we will never understand and the only thing we will ever really need: love.
"It's the kind of book that has some impact on the reader...a Chaucerian endeavour, a rich caravanserai of real, living people with something important to tell." (Sydney Morning Herald)

Experience Real Love!
Trent Dalton’s narration of his book, is inseparable from the tender love he demonstrates when he tells us the love stories from all the contributors to his imaginative love project.
This is a remarkable work that will touch even the toughest and coldest of hearts. You cannot listen to all these love stories and not be filled with wonder at how much love there is around you, if only you would stop and take the time to listen and observe.
I loved this book, thank you Trent and heaps of love to you and your family! Xx

Thanks Trent
I have undertaken to read every Editor's Extra that Audible Australia provides (one per month) even if it is my unpreferred genre of non-fiction.
I don't give five stars lightly and I think that this might be the first time that I have ever given five stars to a non-fiction book; although this is maybe borderline fiction anyway.
It is a wonderful creation and beautifully read.
