As a new Pens, Pads, and Paperbacks corporation employee, Julian meets Rose to tour the Warehouse of Unwanted Books. His assignment is to investigate why employee morale ratings are higher at the warehouse than at any other location within the company.
Julian quickly finds that every employee at the warehouse is a writer with a dream and a book that needs to be written. As they complete their duties organizing discarded old books, paperback novels, and notebooks with incomplete manuscripts, Julian discovers what happens when a writer is randomly whisked away into the realm of story and legend.
During his shift, Julian opens a copy of Romeo and Juliet and wanders through the pages that lead him to Verona, Italy. He rediscovers his own missed chance at love and how his writing is reinspired when “The muse chooses the creative.”
