Publisher's Summary

This book is inspired by true events but is not a biography.

The truth is My Truth is not The Truth, and that's as honest as I can be. It's partially true, rather than painfully true, and I have possibly been economical with the truth, Your Honour.

Basically, I made this sh*t up...

While James Blunt's crimes against music are well-documented, he also has some stories that are not. In Loosely Based On A Made-Up Story, James reveals his most riotous anecdotes to date for your amusement - and his parents' horror - in this highly anticipated non-memoir.

From his questionable Norfolk roots, eccentric family, boarding school antics, misjudged military service, rise to music stardom and tour escapades, James delves into his (surprisingly) fascinating life to date. What do you do when your mother writes irate emails to the future prime minister defending your honour? What does it take to run a male escort agency? And why exactly should you refrain from crowd-surfing? Find out here, folks...

Were the stories in this book grossly exaggerated in an attempt to impress? Maybe. But one thing is for certain: you won't want to miss it.

5 Stars. No sleep

After risking the safety of others on the road due to fits of laughter when listening while driving, I next attempted to listen while dropping off to sleep. Sadly, dear listener, sleep evaded me as James engagingly narrated the many, many highs and occasional lows of his fascinating, super-posh, but very real life experience, and by 2am on a work night I was cursing him soundly. Unable to switch off, I persevered and listened to the entire book overnight.
Paradoxically, despite my exhaustion, I only wish this book was much, much longer.
I cannot recommend highly enough, but will not gift to my family members this Christmas as I don’t want them to hate me.

The author telling the story

JB has great comedic timing and a sense of humor I can relate to turned me into a laughing talking to myself Waller you know the type.

Finally

Have been waiting years to hear more about the life of Mr/Capt/Dr Blunt.

There is no ego, no bragging, no resting on laurels, just a funny bloke retelling the highlights of his funny past.

Anything but boring

Do your self a favour and listen to Mr Blunt so you too can spend too much time trying to figure out which bits are loosely based on made up stories and which are loosely based on the truth.
Self deprecating to the last and hugely humorous all the haters don’t get what they are missing!

What a LIFE

I love James Blunt and this book was so much fun, he made me laugh. He as had an amazing life and this book takes you though so many of his funny moments. It's a real bonus that he narrates the book as well. I actually love his accent he as come in for a lot of flak because he was a public school boy and he as that posh accent. He released his new album on the same day as this book, it is excellent. I love his voice when he sings a ballad he as a sadness in his voice that is very moving. The things that people have said about James over the years are really a disgrace. They say what does not kill you makes you stronger. James as come in for more jokes about his voice than any other artist, when he first came on the scene they never left him alone. James for me is an amazing song writer and as a voice like no other, when you here one of his records you instantly no it's him, James is a unique talent with a unique voice. Thank you for all the memories.
