Publisher's Summary

People don’t just disappear without a trace....

Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.

Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find....

In this smart and chilling thriller, master of suspense and New York Times best-selling author Mary Kubica takes domestic secrets to a whole new level, showing that some people will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

The best narration I've heard, great story.

This felt like I was listening to a movie, it was narrated SO well. The story had me guessing the whole way through, twist ending. Phenomenal.

Wow

So cleverly written this book keeps you engaged from start to finish. I haven’t read any of Mary Kubica’s books before but I will definitely seek out more!

Honestly I don’t get why this was rated so highly by others

Main character is annoying and the performers speak soooo slowly. I picked the ending in the second chapter. Half the chapters could be skipped.

If you can bare the narration of Meredith, it’s not too bad to listen to

I think this book would have greater effect read rather than listened to because the narration was just so annoying and over the top

Addictive!

I was hooked on this from the first chapter. Absolutely devoured this & could not stop listening. Engaging thriller that delivered up until the last chapter. Did not want this to end. Didn’t love the narrators as there wasn’t enough differentiation between characters on some of them, but I still loved this. 5 stars from me!

Good twists but narration annoying

Interesting story, lots of great twists, though at times a bit silly (a problem easily solved that is instead drawn out for example). One of the narrators was amazing, the other was way too breathy and repetetive in tone, it got annoying.

Mid level story, good narrator

The story was helped immensely by the delivery of an audiobook. I do think the issues with the plot I had would have been more pronounced in book form.

I chose 'Local Woman Missing' from KindleUnlimited without much expectation at all despite the author's credibility.

l was surprised by the layers within the story. The evolution of the characters and the chilling truths that truely do we know the ones we love and trust.

Twists and turns I never saw coming

I loved that you didn’t see any of it coming until the very end. Although the story line was good, unfortunately I really wasn’t a fan of the writing. The only thing keeping me going was wanting the resolution.
