The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

What.a.drag
Nothing happens till Chapter 17. Once you get past this chapter it drags on again - without anything exciting happening - until chapter 38. Then you need to force yourself to keep listening till chapter 54. Omg honestly, if it wasnt for Lucy the narrator - who is fab - I would have abandoned this book a long time ago. Boring boring boring. This is my second book from the author, so far I am not impressed. It just drags on and on and on, get on it with it already. But kudos to the narrator, love her.

This story was slow to start, but gradually started to present more and more unanswered questions to the point couldn't put it down (stop listening) I usually only listen when driving finding it boring to just sit and listen. Not this time. A real thriller.

Totally agree with the reviews that said how this dragged on with no substance. Literally it wasn’t until hour 5-6 that it sorta got interesting. Even then it would sputter then stop. Such a waste of time. Ending so disappointing after spending hours waiting for something to happen.

Very Well Done!!
Sometimes K.L. Slater writes excellent, gripping stories that I cannot stop reading or listening to. This is one such book! I gobble it up in one sitting over night.
Little Whispers is full of complex characters with a wonderful, gripping, comprehensive story line.
A couple moves into a new neighbourhood with their son after inheriting some money from the wife's mother. They are looking forward to having some more money as the husband has a new IT job. Their son is only eight and he's going to a whole new school, and mom decides to make some friends. Pretentious and down right rude at first, the women from the new school don't seem like they are very welcoming, but eventually mom gets caught up in the web of the gossipy parents.
The husband is spending more and more time at the office and the wife is spending more and more time with her new friends. However, of course.. not everything is what it seems.
This is definitely one of the best, if not THE best Slater book I've heard. I highly recommend it!

Difficult
I think this may have been a good book if there weren’t too significant plots twisted together that never really got into too much depth during the storyline. However it did and unravel at the end of the book. It’s also hard to read a book where by I hate the main character. Getting frustrated with some of the suspense fiction have a weak, naïve, ignorant, whiny women. Look forward to books where the main character is strong and smart.

A train wreck. A boring train wreck at that.
I should have headed the previous review that said you could listen to the 1st and last 30 minutes of this nine hour book and it would be a better experience than listening to the endless minutia Slater substitutes for drama. I've been a fan of KL Slater which is why I ignored the bad reviews but this book is appalling in its banality. Shame on the author and the editors.

Cracking Good Ending
A domestic thriller with the woman as the central character. The first half of the book revolves around school runs and mothers grouping at the school gates, their cliques, who lives in the poshest house etc. Towards the end of the book we discover what was really going on behind the social "one-upmanship". It's about who you can trust and who you should not. A cracking good ending I thought, well worth the wait.
I've come to like K. L. Slater as a writer. There's plenty going on, but not so complicated that it becomes difficult to follow.

Dreadful book!
Couldn’t quite believe how bad this book was. Every cliche and stereotype you can imagine. Cross with myself for sticky with it.

Don’t bother, very boring book not worth sticking with
Really I wouldn’t recommend this book. Boring and not worth it. Save yourself the hours!

Not good.
The story could have been edited to about half it’s length. The main character was portrayed as naive, and the ‘evil’ ones stereotypical; the dialogue clunky. Not a great listen.

some interesting parts, too long winded, below par
Really love a good KL Slater book as she does character interaction so well. I found the main character a little naive and not very interesting. I could not love or loathe any other character
in the book they evoked nothing.
I would recommend one of this author's other books as this was really disappointing. I want my credit back!

Boring!!!
Unstoppable thriller?? My arse. Slow, boring and not at all thrilling. Didn't even bother listening to the last half an hour. The most exciting part was the main characters past and they brushed past that in a 30 second explanation.

For thriller/mystery/suspense lovers
K L Slater back to her original 5 star storytelling! I haven't enjoyed her last few books, but pleased to say this one kept me engaged and surprised right to the end; enjoyed every minute.

Another KL Slater classic
As with all Slater’s books, I was hooked from the start - great narration - my only disappointment was that I’d finished it in 2 days!!

You need to read this now!!
A gripping read. Believable from start to finish but how could her husband be so gullible?
