Critic Reviews

Sheer suspense
A deadly romantic triangle, a clandestine mission with global stakes, an exotic location, a plot as gripping and ingenious as Eye of the Needle . . . engineered to perfection with breathless acceleration . . . I couldn’t put it down
Vintage Follett . . . tense, vivid, exciting

I was smitten once again by Ken Follett’s ability to place me, the reader, in the situations of suspense, happiness, tragedy and deception.
Emma Fenney is a wonderful narrator, making Ellis as believable a character as Jane. Thank you Mr Follett.

Being a big fan of Ken Follett I once again submerged into the story, the characters, the country - once started it is always a fast paced roller coaster journey with multiple facets to it. Beautifully read & performed by Emma Fenney

Another wonderful tale from a great story teller

I listened to this as often as I could, im a huge Ken follet fan but I usually stick to the huge series. I enjoyed this story and new time/country setting (though Jane was slightly annoying).

binge worthy

I really struggled with this book and almost gave up on it numerous times. Apart from the young boy who lost his hand after picking up a land mine I could not like any of the characters. The story was okay, but very predictable The narrator made the book even worse. It was hard work listening to her.

Not Mr Folletts best
