About this listen
This book is a history of the team that explored the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase territory from 1804-06 while seeking the elusive Northwest Passage to the Pacific Ocean. The expedition took place shortly after the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, was commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson, and consisted of a select group of U.S. Army volunteers under the command of Captain Meriwether Lewis and his close friend, Second Lieutenant William Clark.
