Publisher's Summary
Rowan Hill means many things to many people, but to Ellie Hesketh it represents new beginnings. Putting her life back together after a break-up is going to take time, but the crumbling country estate - as much in need of TLC as she is - seems the perfect place to do it.
But Ellie is not the only person for whom Rowan Hill is a refuge. There's Will, damaged and complicated, whose secrets almost nobody knows. And Finn, his brother, who's finally decided to stop running from his own past. As Ellie is drawn further into saving the estate, she can't help but try saving the brothers too - and she's sure she knows just how to go about it. The trouble is, she's been accused of meddling before...
By turns heartwarming and heartbreaking, this story of friendship, forgiveness and unexpected romance reveals the lies we tell to hide dark secrets - and what can happen when we let in a little light.

Thoroughly enjoyable
Used to hearing this narrator in crime/thriller genre & she was the reason I tried a book outside my usual interest ... so glad I did as I couldn't put it down!
Lovely story. Easy listening.
Had me chuckling in some parts & teary in others. Not all chick lit is predictable & boring, give this one a try.

A beautiful story of will, determination and love.
I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Ellie is a wonderful, strong-willed woman who sees the good in everyone. Her life takes a turn for the better when she moves into a small cottage at Rowan Hill. She meets Will and his brother Finn who she develops and creates an everlasting bond with. A truly enjoyable story.

Too Weak for me.
I really don't know what happened with this story, I felt like it was very promising and I was super ready to be glued but at some point, I felt like the Hero was not strong enough, like the love between the main characters was never that deep and I felt like everything was kind of weak. I dont know how to describe this but I felt like at all times the story was missing of depth and whatever was happening with the main hero I never felt any connection with him or the heroine. I feel like the story has so much more to give but maybe the dialogs were not strong enough to make the story more believable.
The narrations by Henrietta were great that's what I love about the story, her voice gave it so much more to the characters making it more enjoyable and deep..

Is this the worst narration ever?
I think Henrietta Meire reading this could win the prize for the worst narration ever, if there was such a prize she would certainly be a contender. I tried really hard to cope with the narrator as I wanted to listen to the story and it seemed quite promising, however when I had listened to about half to two thirds of it I couldn't bear the awful narration any more. I gave it up and am about to return it. The narrator has a nice voice she just should never be let near a microphone! The way she reads gives you that nails down a blackboard feeling. I wish I'd taken notice of the other reviewers now.
