A very interesting story with great leading characters. Chemistry was amazing and story was gripping and action packed with out getting confusing.

Adam Campbell (alias Sphinx) is a CIA agent who has been blacklisted after receiving an explosive list of people on USB. Operative for the specialist group, Pegasus, Dalton Weber is hot on Sphinx’s tail. Little does he know that Sphinx is his old flame, Adam, and a deadly game of cat and mouse exposes not only his family to danger, but also the whole Pegasus organisation. Can Adam and Dalton recall their mutual love and trust each other enough to bring down the shadowy corrupt figures pulling the strings?

I liked the periodic suspenseful action sequences each time the net closed in on Sphinx. The conspiracy seemed a little weak—I wasn’t sure why anyone was obeying the dastardly kingpin, but it was exciting. I was less thrilled with the romance, which barely had time to breathe before the next shoot out began. Given this is a second-chances romance, I guess we were meant to fill in the blanks about how much Adam and Dalton loved each other. As the series opener, we are introduced to a lot of Pegasus characters, most of whom will probably get their own book, but most were cardboard cutouts here. I’ll probably chase up further books, because I’ve definitely listened to some strong books by this author. 🎧 Voice actor Declan Winters performed well on the audio.
