About this listen

Once Leota's garden was a place of beauty - where flowers bloomed and hope thrived. It was her refuge from the deep wounds inflicted by a devastating war, her sanctuary where she knelt before a loving God and prayed for the children who couldn't understand her silent sacrifices. At 83, Leota is alone; her beloved garden is in ruins. All her efforts to reconcile with her adult children have been fruitless. She voices her despair to a loving Father, her only friend. And God brings a wind of change through unlikely means: one, a college student who thinks he has all the answers; the other, the granddaughter Leota never hoped to know. But can the devastation wrought by keeping painful family secrets be repaired before she runs out of time?

Good role model

I enjoyed this story although I found some parts repetitive, I had trouble with the disdain in the narrators voice though, a lot of the times it was called for as it fitted the characters and where they were at but sometimes it didn't. I did love the Characters especially Leota and Annie and am inspired by their relationship so for that reason I recommend this book.

A good story

The story was not what I had expected. The more the book went on the less I could stop listening. It was truly eye opening. Well done on another great story. I love your books.
However I was not too fond of the narrator. Her voice was too singing for my liking, where it should have been more intense or serious it just did not sound right, Definitely recommend this book.

Absolutely love it

Its different from the other Francine River books I have read and I felt that I might not like it. It took a while to get into the story but when I did, it was lovely and beautiful. The Narrator was amazing and Im sad now that its over.

I wonderfully researched story. She states beautiful feelings and mixed emotions so well. I fully enjoyed the characters which were very entwined with each other. A beautiful listen.

I had.l no idea going into this book it was a Christian book. It’s quite preachy at some points, which caused a few eye rolls, but the story wasn’t bad.

Very religious

I did enjoy the story but did find it a bit preachy and repetitive. Narrator wasn’t my favourite.
