About this listen
The complete four-book Legacy Series. Perfect for listeners who love urban fantasy filled with dangerous magic, deadly secrets, and slow-burn romantic tension.
I survived by staying hidden. But secrets never stay buried.
I’m Levy Michaels—an antique dealer by trade, fugitive by bloodline. When supernaturals were revealed to the world, they got PR teams, businesses, and their own guilds. If I wanted to live, I got the chance to stay hidden.
Legacy-born, I’m heir to a kind of magic the world outlawed long ago. I’ve spent my life pretending to be human—and doing a damn good job of it. Until the day I don’t.
An enchanted dagger vanishes from my shop. I wake up beside three dead supernaturals and no memory of what happened. Now I’m under investigation by Gareth Reynolds, the magnetic, calculating leader of the Supernatural Guild. He’s powerful, dangerous, and exactly the kind of man who could destroy me… if he doesn’t unravel me first.
The good news? He doesn’t think I’m guilty.
The bad news? He suspects I’m hiding something—and he’s not wrong.
Clearing my name means trusting him. Surviving means keeping my secret. But in a world built on blood, power, and betrayal, there’s no hiding forever. And if the truth comes out, Gareth can’t save me. He may be the one who has to end me.

The narrator was very good, but whilst she does great voices, her actual narration does not vary much, no matter what the situation. A bit more emotion or change in pacing during the exciting places could be used.
One book too long

I came here because of the narrator, fresh off a different series. She performs not as well in this, but it's still perfectly fine. I can't help but feel the writing may have more to do with that than anything.
Main character has a lot of 'witty observations' which have their place but seriously undercut any tension during fights or confrontations with villains. This combined with a wide variety of abilities which trivialize injury mean the stakes feel low all the time.
This makes it feel like the romantic 'subplot' is the main story because there's a bit more to invest in. Which means when 'will they won't they' becomes 'they did' the rest of the series begins to feel very tired. I actually had a break from this after the umpteenth time the villain turns up, monologues and escapes, but I managed to finish it all, random subplot and all.
Like butter scraped over too much bread
