Story
Revelation is a lens that puts the entire Bible into focus. The lens is focused on the person of Jesus Christ, and his destiny is imminent. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: We win!) One of the reasons this book strikes us as strange is because of our lack of understanding concerning the Old Testament. The Book of Revelation consists of 404 verses that contain over 800 allusions to the Old Testament. These are detailed, along with Chuck's analysis of the design and structure of this fascinating book.

Romans is the definitive statement of Christian doctrine - the most comprehensive book in the New Testament. Its impact on history is unequaled. This is the first in a trilogy (Galatians, Hebrews) on Habakkuk 2:4 - "the just shall live by faith" - which later became the mantra of the reformation. It has an international outlook: As a Roman citizen, and with both Hebrew and Greek culture of history, religion, philosophy, poetry, science, music, etc., Paul's Epistle to the Romans is the most profound writing that exists anywhere.

The book of Ezekiel contains some of the most incredible prophecies in the Bible, including detailed description of a nuclear war and the cleanup afterward. Ezekiel ministered to a nation experiencing judgment for its sins, and may have some lessons for us today. Ezekiel's name means "God strengthens, or God will strengthen". Ezekiel is one of the three that were called Captivity Prophets (the other two are Jeremiah and Daniel). Ezekiel never mentions Jeremiah in his writings, but he does mention Daniel three times.

Matthew presents Jesus Christ as the Jesus as the Meshiach Nagid, the Messiah the King, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. It was written by a Jew, to Jews, about a Jew. This book of the Bible uses more Old Testament quotes than any other. The Gospel of Matthew emphasizes the saying of Jesus, including 10 parables not found in any other Gospel. After first establishing the royal genealogy, he then goes on to focus on the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies.

Story
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16. Because of its emphasis on "the Love of God" and Jesus' being the incarnation of that Love, many believe this gospel is the most important for new and old Christians alike to take to heart. Written by the "disciple whom Jesus loved", the book of John is organized around seven miracles, seven discourses and seven "I AM" statements. This study is so deep "an elephant can bathe in it, and yet an infant can wade in it."

Being fussy
I know this is trivial as a complaint, but CM sucking his teeth and smacking his lips became a little hard to take after a while. Mind you, a good book is a good book, and these things didn't impede the message's delivery or depth. Well worth hearing, but be warned about the sucking and flapping sounds!!!!!

Introduction is overly long.
Saw another review before purchase which stated the introduction was 2 hours long. I thought there may be some interesting points in this and it couldn't be that bad so went ahead with the book. However I should have taken note, it really is overly long. There was much repetition, going off track and real frustration that the author was not getting to the point, telling us what he was going to do in the book before moving to other topics that were also going to be discussed later in the book. This went on. I ordered this to hear an understanding of the bible not the authors science lesson on space, time and 10 dimensions (for example) beforehand. I am sure there are great points in the bible exposition but the ridiculously long introduction put me off which is a shame. It needs revision. I will be returning this book.

Interesting and thought provoking overview of the Bible
There are many strengths to this summary of the Bible and it is an impassioned plea to get us to know Jesus and study His Word. He is also keen for us to search the Scriptures for ourselves. This is good advice. Definitely worth the listen and it is thought provoking and faith inducing. I don’t agree with everything this faithful Pastor has said but he gives interesting and challenging insights into the Scriptures in every episode. I do recommend it.
