Publisher's Summary

A masterclass led by internationally recognized leadership expert John C. Maxwell revealing the 11 shifts you should make over the course of you career to keep innovating, improving, and influencing others to the highest levels of success in today’s unprecedented business climate.

Bonus Content: Hear number one New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hollis, Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastion, and motivational speaker and former NFL player Trent Shelton share their most significant “leadershifts” with John.

Change happens so rapidly today that leaders must be nimble and ready to adapt. Otherwise, they won't survive. International leadership expert John Maxwell says, the key is to learn how to “leadershift.”

In Leadershift, John C. Maxwell helps listeners make leadership changes that will positively enhance their organizational and personal growth. He does this by sharing the 11 shifts he made over the course of his long and successful leadership career. Each shift changed his trajectory and set him up for new and exciting achievements, strengthening and sustaining his leadership abilities and making him the admired leadership expert he is today.

Among those leadershifts are “the Adaptive Shift from Plan A to Option A,” “the Production Shift from Ladder Climbing to Ladder Building,” and “the Influence Shift from Positional Authority to Moral Authority.” Maxwell gives specific guidance about how to make these shifts in their own lives. Each one requires them to change the way they think, act, and ultimately lead so they can be successful in a world that never remains the same.

Excellent

This book has inspired me in so many ways. John is so easy to listen to and I love the side notes at the end of each chapter. Johns distinctions on leadership built confidence inwardly. There are many great attributes you will recognise you do naturally and I didn’t even realise they were leadership skills. Identifying those skills was great. What I also loved is opening my mind to create new learnings to lead a team that were simple to understand and most important they are really actionable, in Johns delivery. I wrote a lot of notes and after the book I’m reading now I want to go back and re read. This will be a book to re read on multiple occasions as you grow as a leader. I have also got a team incentive running this month and the team that win receive a copy. I would love my entire team read LeaderShift. Thanks John incredible book. With kindness and a love of growth Rachael Verdel

If you only read one leadership book...

This book is an amazing compilation of what one of the most talented and experienced leaders learned through his 70 + years. I had the pleasure of hearing John Maxwell speak years ago, and have read two of his previous books. It just keeps getting better and better. This book describes the evolution of a leader and I've never read anything quite like this. It's fascinating to hear him describe the changes and growth he realized over the years, and it is a great inspiration to develop into an extraordinary leader. After hearing this book I ordered 12 hard cover copies to go through with my management team.

Good reason for shifts to address current day

Most authors draw examples from their previous works, that is true here, but with a number of new lessons. These new lessons can be revaluations that garner a modern perspective to emphasize the need to shift. I liked the book and come away with renewed commitment to challenge past thinking. There is a collection of conference speaker recordings at the end that are worth a listen.

Inspiring!

I love hearing the book in the author’s own voice. The content of the book was easy to follow, highly applicable and very inspiring! Each chapter urged me toward a desire for greatness in the hopes to inspire others and great value in others. The interviews at the end were icing on the cake. The thought behind the three very different leaders/stories/speaking styles was genius. The question/answer with John added such insight and value. I want to listen to it again.

Listen to the end

I felt like the last three testimonials were worth the entire book. The narrator was a liitle tough yo listen to. I had a great understanding of the different types of leadership levels that are out there. Your position or class in life doesn't matter. Lead from your platform.

Uninspiring

I found the presenter and the material entirely dull and uninspiring, I couldn’t even find it within myself to listen to the full book for the first time since joining Audible.

insightful and thought provoking

I found this book thought provoking and insightful. John's anacdotes and stories help put into context his messages on challenging your thought processes. Messages I have taken from this are to be consistent, practicing what you say, and don't be afraid to make mistakes - that's how we learn. Not everything we do is easy, but it will get easier with time and practice.
