Number-one best-selling Author Stephen King returns with a brand-new novel about the secrets we keep buried and the cost of unearthing them.

Sometimes growing up means facing your demons.

The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mum urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.

Later is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King's classic novel It, Later is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.

It was great to listen, easy and delightful, great to pass the time, but there is nothing new there. I heard a handful of books with similar plots last year. This become famous because on the author’s reputation. If it were written by someone else, I doubt it would be on any top ten list at all.

Entertaining but not bright new

Great story but most of all, the narration was fantastic. Read with the perspective and nonchalance of a first person narrative and really drew you into the book. Would thoroughly recommend.

Another great Stephen King novel

Is this THE SEQUEL TO IT?
Maybe.
It’s got the tie ins, it’s got the the themes but it’s seperate in a spin-off kind of way. New characters, new setting, new story not connected in anyway except for one. One big one.
I loved the concept of seeing dead people and I loved the crime side of the story. The narrator is relatable and the perspective is easy to follow. The voice actor does a terrific job handling the different people and I’m going as far as to say I’ll be looking up his other performances. This is a horror story through and through but much more cerebral than shocking. It’s gore without the shock value. Highly recommended listening, I loved it and simply found myself making time to come back to it more than most other audiobooks. Best thing I’ve listened to on audible of 2021 so far.

Amazing

Thoroughly enjoyed "Later". It could have disappointed, being what at first seemed to be another "I see dead people" story, but it was anything but disappointing. Was it necessary to end the story that way? Probably not, but it heeding didn't detract from the overall story. The narration was excellent.

Good fun!

King fans will relish in the revisitation to roots planted back in ‘85 (without saying too much). Easy to listen to and a good story.

Very good
