About this listen

Number-one best-selling Author Stephen King returns with a brand-new novel about the secrets we keep buried and the cost of unearthing them.

Sometimes growing up means facing your demons.

The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mum urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.

Later is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King's classic novel It, Later is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.

This is fantastic with a great narrator Seth Numrich
I so love mr King. This one not as scary as some of his others. This narrator does other characters really brilliantly.
I so want more of Stephen

King is an natural expert in narratives around supernaturally skilled children and that theme is brought to life here in this entertaining and often quite scary novella. The narrator is a perfect fit for the main character and makes the others believable as well.

Recommended novella and narration

I have always enjoyed Steven King's books and this one was no exception. Another exceptionally good book.

I re-read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Short sharp and to the point. Only a handful of characters who were well rounded. I liked it.

Well read.

Great story. Nice twists and turns. I was holding my breath a few times. A very animated narrator.

Stephen King is back

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Stephen has written this story without dragging it out like some of his recent ones, It begs for a second instalment. Only issue for me was the storyline was a tad too much like the The Sixth Sense, which didnt lessen my enjoyment at all. Stephen writes in the first person brilliantly, and the reader Seth was excellent.

Very enjoyable, moves along at a cracking pace
