Wonderful insights and brilliantly narrated

I listened to this while in the South of France and really enjoyed the vignettes and anecdotes about the greats of the film and theatre worlds, some of whom lived in Cap Ferhat which I visited. Roger Moore's dry and self-deprecating style came over very well as delivered by the narrator. If one did not know better it could have been him! If you enjoy hearing about the great stars such as Niven, Bette Davies, Rex Harrison etc as well as about Roger's own experiences then you should enjoy this book as much as I did.

An excellent collection of anecdotes and memories

Even if you are not a fan of Roger Moore there can be no denying that he has enjoyed an amazing career covering 6 decades in film and TV, and has mostly jumped from one chart-topping project to the next. Consequently this book of memories and stories from a man who really has seern it, done it and has a drawer full of T-shirts, is a must for any fan of film or TV.

Listeners will know Jonathan Keeble's smooth, authoritative narration from his many 'History in an hour' titles, but who knew he did such an excellent vocalisation of Roger Moore's measured, deep voice. In no time at all you believe you're listening to the man himself.

And you are going to love the Diana Dors story.....

Highly recommended

An autobiography by a British Icon

Not the best written book in the world. Basically lots of name dropping and slightly clumsy links between anecdotes BUT I REALLY ENJOYED IT! A very likeable man who actually has had an life full of amazing stories and experiences with amazing people to share (unlike some modern autobiographers). I really grew to appreciate what a charmed and full life someone who embraces life can have and what a nice guy!
Worth a read if you're old enough to remember the seventies.

What a man!

What a man, and what a book! Jonathan Keeble really delivers this book and you would think Sir Roger was narrating.

Disappointed

I'm one of the few Scotsmen who think Roger Moore was a better James Bond than Sean Connery.

I was looking forward to this book of memoirs but it disappointed me somewhat in that the stories weren't that remarkable or even very amusing. The stories do get better as you read though them (or listen through them) though.

The best thing about this audiobook is the brilliant performance of the narrator who is a very accomplished impersonator.

Great Stories and Great Storytelling

Extremely funny and interesting stories from the life of Roger Moore. As well as being a great book, it is read by a great narrator. Initially, I wondered why it was not bring narrated by Roger Moore himself, as I love Roger Moore's voice. But after a few moments I realised that Jonathan Keeble's fantastic impressions are the reason, and he does sound very similar to Roger Moore but with the added benefit of his providing great voices of both men and women featured in the stories, which make them all the more enriching. This book is all the more special now that Roger Moore has passed away. If you love great anecdotes, about great people, this may be one of the best books you could find.

A nice easy listen

On the premise that you're here because you liked RM in his TV shows and films, then you really can't go far wrong with this.

There are one or two expletive ridden tales which didn't really need to be in there, but unless you listen in mixed company that shouldn't be an issue.

The guy who reads this sounds so much like Roger that you soon forget it's not him, and the memoirs are a nice insight into his life outside of the Bond films.

A very easy listen which went by very quickly with an insider's view on some great times.

Good book, excellent narration

Good book, but the narrator was brilliant, he sounds just like Rodger and did great impressions of others. Felt as if Mr Bond was speaking to be beyond the grave.

A really enjoyable read

Jonathan Keeble not only sounds like Roger Moore but his impressions of other well-known people are both superb and entertaining. The book itself is less of a ‘blow-by-blow’ autobiography but more a telling of tales and experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to others.
