I loved this book - previously I only really associated Rickie Lee Jones with song Chuck E’s in Love.
This bio unfolded a life that was all about being wide open to life’s hard knocks, an internal optimism that somehow kept her positive and sort of safe. An open heart - waiting to be filled with the words of experience and transmute to unique brilliant music.
I get how she and Tom Waits inhabit a musical space so sympatico but so individual.

I have always loved this lady's music and have returned to it all through my life. My siblings and I all had very different tastes in music but we all love RLJ. What a treat to listen this story told by herself.
