Publisher's Summary

Love is a powerful force, but it doesn’t compare to guilt.
And just like most people, my guilt eats me alive.

I went from being an irresponsible kid who didn’t know any better to an irresponsible man who does.
I make no apologies.
Don’t take my carelessness for strength.
My blood is as deadly as the bullet that killed my brother, and once I’m cut, there’s no stopping the river of rage.
My past is dead. I’m not like my MC brothers. Nothing is going to come bite me in the ass.
Or so I thought.

Because life gave me Mary, the little hellraiser who tries to be reckless.
She’s only looking to escape the nightmare of what happened to her in Atlantic City.
She’s a good girl. The kind to wear pearls and fancy cardigans. She doesn’t belong in this life.
Even if I know she belongs with me.
She paints her lips in red lipstick, but I know it’s an effort to hide the pain.
There’s more than the fact we are too different to be together.

Her past isn’t dead.
And mine has come back to life.

Knives’s audiobook gives you all the feels!

When I first read Knives, I fell in with him and his story. Hearing James and Kelsey narrate it, it made me fall in love with the book all over again! Their voices are perfect for Knives and Mary and for me, their narrating actually had me seeing the story play out like a movie. With all the emotional scenes and events that take place, I could really feel the emotions as each scene played out. There are parts that were very hard to get through (in the book) and they took care and did this book justice! This audiobook is my favorite (aside from Boomer’s Rise). I can’t wait to listen to it all over again!

Ninja Stars for the win!!

I have been patiently waiting for Knives' story because I just somehow knew it was going to extreme. I mean he's been tossing around these ninja stars this whole series, and I NEEDED to finally find out all about this biker. And of course, his story is heartbreaking and life changing, but it brought him to the Ruthless Kings!! The Atlantic City Ruthless Kings (pre Boomer) are the reason Knives crossed paths with the one woman he loved to hate, his Hellraiser, Mary. And Mary loved to argue and pick at him too, maybe a little too much. They experience a few interesting situations together in the beginning and Knives starts to find out about Mary's past.

The audiobook is narrated by Kelsey Navarro and James Anderson Foster, who are perfect as Mary and Knives ❤🎧

Excellent story

This book starts out with an excellent but heartbreaking prologue. Really nicely written with a page turning story. It does have darkness to it but has an HEA. Highly recommend.

I’M 💯% INVESTED IN THIS SERIES FOR THE LONG-HAUL

I’ve been slowly ticking off each and every delicious story from this Ruthless Underworld where the alpha brothers in the MC each have their twisted darkness, demons and dark desires.. but when they find their women.. well it brings out a whole new possessive side. They remind me of JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood and you can’t help getting lost in an underworld that has a crocodile for a emotional support pet and with MC names of Tongue, Reaper, Pirate and Knives being just a few of its members.

They’ve all been damaged by their past and in this story it’s Knives who will see Heaven and Hell and bring his wrath down on the world for Mary.. the woman he fought with and for.. the one he’s just claimed. Their journey has been a war of bickering and arguments to cover their mutual desire.. and then fire when their bickering finally stops.. but Mary has been running from a nightmare past.. a past that will catch up with her again.

Worth a credit? Oh yes it’s an emotional rollercoaster of romance and angst I didn’t want to step off. And this story definitely has it’s dark twisted patches, it’s heartbreaking tragic ones and it’s crazy ones too.. but the thread running through the entire story is love. Love for the brothers that stand beside you, fight by your side and would die to protect you.. and love for the one woman that owns your soul. The secondary characters are all there and color the scenes with their quirks and attitudes which was great. The dual POV narration was good.. however I thought James Anderson Foster’s voice didn’t fit and sounded a bit too old to be Knives.. however I had to get past it to enjoy the action.
