Overall, this was an amazing series from KA Merikan with sizzling chemistry and the usual gazillion trigger warnings—definitely not for the prudish or faint of heart! The Kings are almost superheroes with strength, combat skills and certain demon-granted supernatural powers, albeit with highly dubious morals, and you root for each of the men to find the man / being that completes them. The final book, which revisits Laurent and Beast’s relationship, wasn’t a favourite, but I thought #2 and #3 were both incredibly good. 🎧 Award-winning voice actor Joel Leslie really does a great job on the audios, especially his French, British, and multiple US accents—he pretty much has a different voice for each main character. His emotional projection and pacing is also excellent.

I almost didn't make it through the last book because of Mercea, like seriously he's the reason for all the fighting, he only thinks about himself and I really did want the world to end just so he didn't get his happy ending, I wanted the world to end before the egg hatched so he had to suffer knowing he ruined his relationship with beast with all of his selfish bitching and moaning, like seriously he was lucky enough to even have the family of the kings, and let's face it he only wanted that child so Grey wouldn't get to keep Shadow..... I'm honestly surprised Grey didn't resent him for having to cut Shadow's finger off...
but yea over all quite good, just Grey's Shadow should have been longer 👍

I struggled with this one simply because I can't understand how anyone can care for Elliott. He's a selfish, whiney kid. I'd have gladly dumped his ass and found someone better.

Referring to the person you wanna fuck as boy and inocent plus the fact that he’s 19 and your THIRTY THREE is not only uncomfortable but pedo behaviour plus you being a whiny self centred bitch when he doesn’t want to fuck you even tho you KNOW he has truma around men AND he only met you yesterday.
This is the only book I have at the moment (got them for free) that’s the only reason I lasted ten chapters I knew the age difference was fucked but I was desperate and if I tryed hard enough I could look past it for one book but you had to make it fucking weird by calling him boy and have the older dude send him to his room like wtf you can make age differences without being fucking weird it’s actually not cute that he’s barely legal didn’t think I had to spell that one out for you but here we are.
Anyway TW for attempted rape attempted murder and actual murder and and the rapist planned to imprison him he had a shackle on his wrist and he would have been dismembered and put on display after idk how to word that better sorry. Anything past chapter ten book one your on your own so be safe
It could have been good the story line was interesting but Jesus Christ the relationship between the two is so fucking uncomfortable to listen too -100000/5 don’t recommend
EDIT: it’s been a few years and I got so bored I caved and read the next three books i obviously skipped the first one but omg they don’t get better I regret my choices.
The second book is INSAIN the the love interest of night is obsessed and in love with the rapist murderer that the character from the first book escaped fully knowing everything he did and hated him for killing him when he escaped. He dressed up in a cheap costume and painted his face white as a tribute to him. He obviously has mental problems it’s explained in the book but holy fuck was it uncomfortable to sit through when he talked about the rapist. I did like there relationship dynamic it is kinda cute in an obsessive way but everything else was insain!!!
The third book was the only good one I enjoyed it thoroughly I loved the kink I loved Jake and varse as characters I loved there story it was a really good book super interesting. the gargoyle was really interesting too especially how he became the gargoyle. 10/10 if you want to read any of these books read that one altho you’ll have no idea what’s going on lol
Ok the forth book is just weird and uncomfortable it’s about a guy who makes a pact with the demon that everyone else in this series has made a pact with and he gives up his shadow his literal shadow and it comes alive and is put in the body of one of the rapist murder victims body but when he leaves the body it is a corpse again. But bc of reasons he is basically a child they say this throughout the book they comment on how child like and innocent he is and in the same sentence the main character grey also says how hot he is and how much he wishes they could be in a relationship. He feels like a child to me in everything he dose but he’s the love interest it feels so fucking gross. Also he’s fucking gross as well he eats rotten food cockroaches rats and literally licks the mold off the walls in front of grey!!!!!! It’s worse in the book your lucky you didnt have to sit through those scenes. And when they first meet shadow tryed to rape grey he obviously didn’t know what rape or sex was at the time and still doesn’t where I’m up to in the book (I’m not fucking finishing this book I’m too uncomfortable) but like what!! I know it’s not his falt bc he was literally born that night but why make him do that just make him hug him forcibly witch is basically what he wanted anyway. I know it’s not his sounds fucking crazy but shadow really isn’t at falt really for it he was just born and it’s his first time not being constantly touched he doesn’t understand what sex is let alone consent and in the book he is brutally punished for it but at the end of the day you literally just could have made him hug the guy what was the reason for this. The whole book just makes me super uncomfortable he’s so childlike and grey is just so weird and rude (obviously at the start it’s ok bc he was almost raped I fully get it at the start and I’m glad the author punished shadow for that just to show the severity of what he did)
I’m not going to read the next book bc it’s about beast and his child bride and again I’m not finishing shadow and greys one eather ALL OF THESE BOOK MADE ME SO UNCOMFORTABLE WTF BROOO a art from Jake and varse there my baby’s and I love them
Another thing about beast he’s a fucking man child chucking a hissy fit when the 19 year old kid from 200 years ago who just one day ago escaped brutal rape torture and murder then time traveled two hundred years in the future by a contract with a devil doesn’t want to fuck you???!!! He literally yells at him and SENDS HIM TO HIS ROOM bc he rejected his sexual advances. YESTERDAY BEING GAY WAS ILLEGAL FOR HIM AMD THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY HE HAD TO DO ANYTHING WITH A GUY THE GUY TRIED TO RAPE AND INSLAVE HIM IM SO SORRY HE DOSENT FEEL LIKE FUCKING YOU YOU STUPID BITCH
Anyway that is my updated review of this series I want to submerge my head in bleach I hated every second (except one my baby’s Jake and varse love you to death) I don’t recommend you read this series for the reasons stated above I hope you have a lovely day and if you decide to get this series anyway I wish you the best of luck I also pity you bc you will soon feel my pain and rage. I wouldn’t wish this series on my worst enemy.<3
