Only he ends up at a club in need of rescuing from a jerk who won’t take no for an answer. After that embarrassing mess, Mackenzie swears he’s on a man ban. His resolve lasts until he runs into the handsome bouncer who saved him, and then he hands over his phone number, hoping for a date.

A Stalker Who Can’t Look Away
Travis “Eyes” Hughes has two jobs - spy for the president of the Kings of Men MC, and nightclub security. When Travis saves a sexy blond from getting groped against his will, he gets the urge to follow him home to make sure he arrives there safely. One night of watching turns into a habit Travis can’t shake, and an impulse he won’t deny.

The closer Travis gets to Mackenzie, the sloppier he becomes. When his half-truths begin to catch up with him, all hell breaks loose with the Kings of Men MC, and Mackenzie finds out Travis isn’t who he said he was. With Travis’s lies exposed, a cop hot on his trail, and his brother in jail - he’s sure he’ll lose Mackenzie as well - but he might be surprised by the strength a certain kindergarten teacher possesses.

Have been enjoying these stories.

I must admit that I am not fond of the narrator. But overall it works.

Good storyline

I’ve never listened to this narrator. It took some time to be comfortable with his voice. I did get used to it and he was ok. I think my issue was that I expected a deeper voice for the motorcycle club members. He was perfect for Mackenzie’s voice.

Mackenzie is a kindergarten teacher. Travis is a member of Kings of Men motorcycle club. Mackenzie’s dislikes MC’s . When he finds out who Travis is he’s angry but the night they spent together was so wonderful he can’t let it go.

Some drama, family issues, dangerous activity, rival gang action, stalking, and sexy pool time. Well written story.

Good series

I really like this series but I don't think this is the best narrator for a MC. Worth listening to though!

Travis & Mackenzie

A good story with interesting characters. Travis is part of the Kings of Men MC and meets Mackenzie one night at a club where he is also a bouncer. Since that night, Travis is drawn to Mackenzie and vice versa. Mackenzie doesn't know that Travis is part of a MC and he hates them. Their relationship progresses with lots of the bumps in the road and when truths are exposed, it may just ruin any future they may have. The narrator was ok but his voices are too similar and don't really match all of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Great story.

This is such a great story. Travis and Mackenzie are sweet together. I like this whole storyline with the baby boy and a law abiding teacher. They are just what the other one needs. I like Kaeomakana Tiwanak narration on this story. I do wish that Travis's voice was deeper but I still like listening to this story.

Great Series

Travis, a sneaky law breaking bad boy and Mackenzie, a sweet law abiding teacher. These men have different views on life but it makes Travis a better man and Mackenzie a little more understanding. The story is good and makes me want to hear even more about their future. I will be reading or listening to the next book in the series. The only thing that would have made it even better is a different voice for Travis, it did not quite fit his personality, but did not distract from the story. The voice for Mackenzie was perfect.

Good story and narration

The authors  Ki Brightly and M D Gregory as well as narrator Kaeomakana Tiwanak are all new to me. The narration was good and enhanced my listening pleasure.

From start to finish I was hooked. I was drawn to Mackenzie Byrnes and Travis “Eyes” Hughes and the story that the authors wove. Rescued by Travis from the unwanted attention of a man who refuses to take no for an answer, Mackenzie swears off men.

Travis is intrigued by the oh so hot man he rescued and wants to make sure he gets home safely. However there is more to Travis than meets the eye. Not only is he a bouncer who handles security for the nightclub but he is also the “eyes” for the president of the Kings of Men MC.

As their relationship develops, what will happens when Travis’s lies are exposed, will Mackenzie forgive him or will Travis lose the man he has fallen for?

The vulnerability that both men show, made for an emotional listen. I loved how supportive Mackenzie was as Travis dealt with his brother’s issues. King’s Eyes is a story of suspense, secrets, heat and had me invested from the start.

Narrator needs a partner

3 stars

Narration: Let me say that the lack of stars is for narration here. Kaeomakana Tiwanak has a cute, young, twink-sounding voice, and if he’d read just the parts for Mackenzie (maybe slowed down the cadence a little) and there had been another narrator with a deep voice working as a team for this reading Travis’ parts, I would have given the narration 5 stars (hopefully). But unfortunately, it didn’t, so it was distracting at best. It actually caused me to miss important parts. Like a description of the characters. I’m going back to the ebook and reading the series. But I’ll be poking my head in to see when the next comes out to see if the writers sort this.

Story: I started with this book, and that seemed to be okay. It is a series and should probably be read as such, so I’ll be reading it in order sometime next month. I even picked up book 1.5, King’s Rogue, to read as well. I think any fan of Sons of Anarchy should probably read this. It’s like an MM version! I loved the dual POVs idea. Its always a plus in my book, but like I said before, I would have really loved a proper voice for Travis.

I liked both the main characters, Mackenzie and Travis. Whoever thought a stalker could be endearing?! LOL Travis is a stalker…there’s no other way to say it. But lol it works with the story, and I actually liked him a lot. His motivations are clear and written well. But he’s a bit distracted and it costs his brother instead of himself.

Mackenzie had some twists to his character that I also really liked. Yeah, he had a cheating ex in New York, but he also has a family history with an MC back in California. That brings Travis to lie, and trouble ensues from there. We meet a few of the characters from the MC, and I’d like to get to know them a bit.

Let me just say this, these are NOT the cuddly non-criminal bikers! Well, they may be cuddly, but they aren’t law-abiding. It seems like a great storyline with great characters…so I’ll be pushing the series in my to-be-read list!

vulnerability is hot

First Travis saves MacKenzie and they developed feelings. I Iiked how later MacKenzie returns the favor and saves him and supported him through his problems. It's always great to see a tough guy vulnerable like this. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was good.

Interesting New World

Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory continue to build their world of New Gothenberg in King's Eyes. The second novel in The Kings of Men MC series, you can read this as a standalone. Characters from other stories are in the periphery and don't play an essential role in this story.

I've read several stories in the New Gothenberg world now and I like where Brightly and Gregory are going with this. It's an interesting place, the characters are complex and I'm enjoying the relationships.

Audio performed by Kaeomakana Tiwanak, I think this narrator's voice works better for softer characters. Mr. Tiwanak does a good job with the swift pace of these novels.

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
