A talented freelance forensic psychologist who has never quite found the key to engaging with people on a casual level, she is drafted in to examine a grisly murder – a body found in a children’s playground.

The murder carries all hallmarks of one of her most famous incarcerated clients, ‘The Playground Killer’ (aka Alfred Dinklage) – namely the location of the body and the tongue being ‘forked’ like a snake with scissors. Buckley has a race against time to unpick the facts and delve into Dinklage’s often manipulative, complicated mind to understand his past to understand the present events – whilst striving to prevent further murders...as someone out there will stop at nothing to complete what they see as Dinklage’s work.

A well-made well written audio drama. The only issue I had with this was telling some of the voices apart with the male police men but I would definitely listen to another one made by the same people and author. Definitely worth listening to.

It's a performance piece, which I don't mind so much, although the dramatic music stings become a bit monotonous. Also some of the effects are... a little amateurish. The extra cast make it enjoyable. Tell me, how can a mother, her daughter and son, all have wildly different accents, in a stand-alone book, with no explanation why?

Also, if you're going to write a police/forensic procedural, make sure you get it right. At one stage, the pathologists discuss something called "patriarchal haemorrhaging". Wow. I laughed out loud. It's 'petechial' haemorrhaging. Good grief.

Put all my grumblings aside and give it a go. Not bad for taking up time on long train trips.

loved it, brilliant British crime drama with excellent voice acting and clever soundscaping, engrossing plot and character development. as good as it gets, v recommend!

Usually don’t like these type of audio books - full cast narrations. The music and sound effects are usually intrusive and characters hard to understand. But this one was perfect. The production added immensely to the story. Loved it

The constant, rude interlude's of stupid, loud, crappy music AND an over voice telling us what book we are listening to!!!
